Author Topic: problems in WB when upgrading domain to php5  (Read 242 times)

I have a WB site running 2.8.1 on a server with PHP4. I want to upgrade my domain to run on php5 but when I flip the switch my WB pages won't load past the homepage. From reading the forum it seems like other users are running WB sites fine on php5. What could the problem be?

This site was originally set up in 2006 as a WB 2.6.7 site. Would it need to be re-installed under php5 to work right?

Thanks!

To clarify, I get an Internal Server Error when I try to click on any links from the hompage.

The backend login also does not work. The page displays but it does not accept my username/password.

I found another user who posted about the same problem but I don't understand what the solution is:

I just re-entered the database details where I created the database i.e. cpanel

I can look at the mysql databases in cpanel but how would I "re-enter the database details"? I tried running the check and repair utilities on the database.

The internal Server error is nothing we can do anything about from here. You'll need to work together with your hosting company to actually find out the reason for it.

Sometimes it is the permissions (and it does sound a bit like in your case) which are set to permissive ...

About this CPANEL thing ... I don't know, I neither use CPanel nor Plesk ...

cheers

Thanks, you were right. My host changed some permissions and now everything works. This was the response:

This should be working now; the permissions needed to be adjusted slightly (files should be 644, directories 755) for php5.

I thought I had done this already myself, per the advice in the other thread, but maybe I missed something. Anyway it works fine now.
