WB 2.8.1 - fresh install, but can't add users? - solved

Hi

I have installed version 2.8.1 as a fresh install (not an update) and have been unable to add a new user, though groups can be added fine. The error message says "The user name is too short", but I have tried names up to 16 characters long with the same result.

Is this a known problem? If so, does anyone know the fix?

The problem looks to have been caused by the 'password' being too short, not the username. A long one can be used and then modified shorter if needed.

Also, I tried to duplicate the problem after logging out, then in again - but could not, even with the same text I'd tried earlier. So it seems to either be intermittent or has fixed itself?
