Hello,
after updating WB from 2.6.7 to 2.8.1 my FCKEditor does not work anymore. It does not show up when opening pages. Can anyone tell me what to do in this case? I have tried to install FCKEditor as new module, uninstalled it and installed it again through the backend. After all it does not work. WYSIWYG htmlarena is working, but I want FCKeditor...
Hope you can help me...
Regards,

I have the same problem. A "file not found" error occurs instead. I noted it in another thread, but it was ignored. Wink It seems that some files should be named with .php as suffix, but in fact they are named with .html.

Hi,

try completely deinstalling the FCK Editor via Backend and then reinstall it (save customized toolbars and styles before if necessary). Then install the FCKE 2.9.4, clear your browser cache and cookies and try again.

Hi instantflorian,

thanks four your help. Unfortunately it does not solve the problem.
I tried many times and on different computers / browsers.

When I try to run the editor there is the normal frame of the backend, but instead of the editor only white background appears.

Please help.

You may just don't get the error message because of your Error reporting settings.

This problem just showed up on a client's site. FCKeditor just does not load at all.

It was working fine the last time it was used but today all of a sudden it is not working. I installed TinyMCE editor as a temporay work around but I'm still wondering why FCKeditor just stopped working out of the blue.

On my own site, the FCKeditor still appears to be working properly... anyone know what the problem is and a solution yet?

Hope you can help, Matthias:

I have the same problem with fckeditor - just tries to download fckeditor.html files instead of showing the WYSIWYG editor. I did change .htaccess before the problem happened but after reading your comment, I have deleted .htaccess on my server. I tried clearing cache and cookies on FF, I have reinstalled FCKeditor to the lastest version. No luck, it still wants to download files. I have tried a different PC too.
Any idea's will be helpful?

Thanks

Hi again,

The website host is www.hetzner.de as as far as I can tell, the Server is Linux Apache, php5, mysql5, WB
CMS Version 2.8.1
Revision 1287
Admin version 1.4
FCKEditor Version 2.9.5

It was working without problems until I tried to speed up the site using no expire headers in .htaccess
I included .js files in the no expire settings.
The frontend site speeded up but then I started having problems at the backend with the WSYIWYG editor - instead of allowing editing, it shows a blank page and tries to download multiple fckeditor.html files to my pc.

I saw on this forum that someone solved this problem using a different setting in .htaccess but it did not help me. I changed .htaccess to what is was originally from a backup.
I also tried deleting the cache and cookies, private browsing, other browsers and even other pc's. It does not want to work anymore.

Any clues will be appreciated.

Thanks
Rodney

@webkitchen

please try if it works, when you don't use a .htaccess. If this is the case, the .htaccess is the problem.

Ok, I have deleted .htaccess and it works! (After clearing cache)
Now the next problem, can I use .htaccess at all with WB, surely it must be possible?

Thanks for your help so far

More information:
My .htaccess has the following lines

# Example .htaccess which allows to parse .html as php
AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php .html

These are the ones that mess up FCKEditor. I have removed them and left the rest so all is OK
Hope this helps somene else.

Hello,

Quote

AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php .html

1.) You need this line only if you have changed in the advanced settings of WB .php to .html. So if you use WB in the standard config a .htaccess is not neccessary.

2.) Maybe you got it working with .htaccess too if you change "AddType" to "AddHandler".

I downloaded website baker yesterday & I had a similar problem in that when trying to modify a page FCKEditor would not open & would download.

I deleted the .htaccess as advised, cleared the cache & cookies & FCKEditor now works fine.

Thanks for the solution  smiley

I've just installed WebsiteBaker (Version 2.8.1, Revision 1287)  after trying various other CMS programs and finding that they were either unstable or difficult to get to grips with.  I like the look and feel of the admin pages and it all seemed fairly easy to get the hang of.  I set up a home page and decided to enter some text.  Just like a small wordprocessor and I then clicked on Save.  I then received the following message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request
Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthroug h/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_jk/1.2.25

I installed HTMLArea and it does the same.  Any clues welcome.
