Hello,

added bookmarks module v2.93 to the Add-ons repository. The new version includes the fixes proposed by the forum member bueno. The sorting of links within groups should now work.

Thanks bueno for your support.

Hossa Folks

Newbie as I'm maybe my suggestion isn't possible, but as I'm that kind of user WB is aiming for I post my wish.

Bookmark (nice addon btw) provides the option to implement a picture instead of a titel. This is kind of unusefull, as I need to crop all pictures on my own to a certain size if want to keep my layout steady. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Wouldn't it be nice if each of my link had automatically a favicon in front of the titel? Well I know not every site has such a favicon but many of them do, and for the others I could create a default.

Hi
Im also new to WB. I have one suggestion regarding bookmarks. Is it possible to have "Suggest Link" form where visitor can suggest link and it would be published after getting approved.
It also easies for website owners to post links at once easily instead of doing all these in back end.
I'm sorry if this feature is already exist. I could not find it.

Thanks n Regards

That's not a bad idea.  Adding this an approval control would mean you wouldn't have to retype or copy & paste it.  However I think it would open it up to the possibility of comment-style abuse & security issues. i.e. you want people to enter URLs but those have to be very carefully cleaned to avoid the nasty cross-site scripting problems.

Note that a workaround can be done very simply for 95% of the functionality.

- Select the Manage Settings tab for the page and add a "Form" section.
- Create a form that accepts text field for the URL,
- probably you'll want a Category drop-down/radio item as well.
- You'll then get email with any suggestions, so paste into the bookmarks as desired

You could also use a comment/guestbook, which could avoid the email requirement, and still have approval control. Just copy & delete the comment and paste it into the bookmarks instead of approving the comment.

Hi There,

I tried WB 2.7.0 with BM 2.93: everything is working fine, including images
I used both grouped and ungrouped links.

Could you please describe in some more detail what happens?

Hi Ghost06,

I don't think there is anybody currently "supporting" this module. if you wrap up a complete package and make it available it can then be updated on the appropriate AMASP page.

cheers

Hi,

I don't know if anyone uses this module but I have a copuple of questions and/or request for help to improve/update this module.
I'm looking for a simple solution to manage and show bookmarks/links to external webpages, it could be as many as a couple of hundred or maybe more.. The list tends to get rather long after a couple of links...  Is there any way to modify this module so that it is easier to manage bookmarks and groups?
Is it maybe possible to show all groups in a list and when you click on the groupname all bookmarks under that groupcategori is shown. That feature should maybe be a good idea to have in both the frontend and the backend!? I also wonder if it would be difficult to do so that you can put a bookmark in multiple groups?

Another feature I would like to see is the possibility for users to suggest links/bookmarks from the frontend. These links should be set as "inactive" so that the Administrator of the site can activate it from the backend

I'm no coder so I don't know if this is a big job or a simple thing to solve. Perhaps someone already has a solution to my problem!?

What you are looking for is a "link catalog".
Try a search engine.
There are lots of scripts in the web for this purpose.
