Does anyone know if it is possible for an RSS feed to go out when an existing post is amended, rather than just when a new post is created?

Also, I have two news module pages - Offers and Events, can I combine the RSS feed so that when someone subscribes to either one of them, they automatically will receive the other too?

there is nothing of that sort. But you could try the "RSS Newsfeeder":

Also you could search the available modules / snippets on AMASP.
