Hi there,

I've been trying to upgrade my excisting WB 2.7 to WB 2.8, and when trying to run the /update-script.php I get the following message:

"Install missing tables, you can install them in backend -> addons -> modules -> advanced. Then again run upgrade-script.php"

tables that are missing are:

_wbmod_captch_contr ol FAILED
_wbmod_droplets FAILED
_wbmod_jsadmin FAILED
_wbmod_menu_link FAILED
_wbmod_output_filte r FAILED

I have not done anything with my database, so why these tables are missing, I don't know.

It also says, that i can install them in backend -> addons -> modules -> advanced.

The problem is, I cannot even log in to the backend part, now that I've tried upgrading from 2.7 to 2.8, and I did follow all the steps mentioned in http://start.websitebaker2.org/en/wb-2.8.php#anker1 .

Can someone help me out ?

thanks

Hi,

the upgrade script contained in the WB 2.8.1 installation package (SVN Rev. 1285) is corrupt and breaks installations when upgrading from WB 2.7 (upgrading from WB 2.8 works without problems).

There is a corrected upgrade script available with Changeset 1286. You can download the files from the download link at the bottom of the page. Added the upgrade-script of Changeset 1286 to this post. Just FTP the file to your webspace, rename it into upgrade-script.php and execute it in your browser.

I have no glue why the corrupt WB 2.8.1 download package (with Rev 1285) is still offered on the WB start page and not simply replaced with the corrected version (Changeset 1289). This way all users updating from WB 2.7 will run into the same problem huh

Regards Doc

P.S.: There are already two or three threads in the German and English subforums deailing with this issue.

The reason is easy, until yesterday it was not tested thoroughly enough.

A small notice warning or instruction from official site would have been highly appreciated.

A notice (below the download link) like: "We are working on a fixed upgrade script. For the time beeing please do not upgrade from a WB 2.7 installation to WB 2.8.1" is better than letting WB 2.7 users run into those problems.

Hi,

this would be a nice "walk".
first you have to upgrade to 2.7

because your nickname suggest you're a German-speaker I give you the german links:

http://start.websitebaker2.org/de/wb-2.7.html#anker4

then you can update to 2.8

http://start.websitebaker2.org/de/wb-2.8.php#anker1

or directly to 2.8.1 - if the issuse, discussed in this thread is solved - e.g. using the changeset:
http://project.websitebaker2.org/changeset/1286 as described by user doc in this thread.

Regards and good luck
