Just an open discution about modules.

When installing a new WB, witch module do you install first? sometime without even knowing if you'll need them ?

for me it's simple : html & section picker is the fisrt thing I install right after a fresh WB install.

in fact, I sometime wonder why HTML is not part of the install package.

do you have MUST install module ?

Addon File Editor is my favorite, an admin module, did they count as well?

Standard with every WB install:

- Addon File Editor
- MPform
- Sitemap

Besides that in the module folder I always change the 'p' into 'br' in the modules/fckeditor/wb_config/wb_fckconfig.js

Line 41:
Code:
   FCKConfig.EnterMode             = 'br' ;        // allowed tags: p | div | br

Hi,

in past installations, I modified the FCKEditor look and feel in order to render the clients frontend styles (h1-h6, p, divs, etc.) one by one in the backend view. This helps a lot to avoid that clients "modify" each element manually to look as in the frontend wink

Most times I installed a modified version of the "Another Image Gallery". The Anynews Snippet was installed on all WB installation I made so far.

have you thought of enclosing those modules in the modules folder of the main install package

hi,

Quote

what is HTML modul?? ->code²?? if yes -> this is standard, too (i made several "admin comments" on the most pages where a editor have to use a modul like before a gallery section a shorthelp what to do or what don't.... wink

section picker has replaced in my installations with the section picker droplet (it's more handy for templates and backend editors (droplet plugin in the fckeditor)

there are some other snippets that replaced with a droplet - like frontendedit, or loading jQuery Plugins too...

Standard is as well for me:

AFE
MPForm (only - if more than a simple contactform is needed)
Cutting all unneeded Icons in the FCKeditor (mostly two short rows left after that  grin )
foldergallery with some other lightbox themes (like fancybox if no slideshow needed...)
anynews (if news modul is good enought for the project - if not i use topics&anytopics like tutorials)

regards martin

the HTML module is the same thing as the WYSIWYG module, without fckeditor.

I know that I can deactivate fckeditor, but I want it for some block, but need it gone on other block.

You should have a look at the code2 Page Module.
There you can choose JS/HTML/PHP and tiny or big input area.

It's pretty similar to the code Page Module but with more languages supported. Also Internal Comments are possible.
