Hello,

my suspicion was right. The FCK developers have changed the definitions to specify the font size.
Simply replace the line starting with FCKConfig.FontSizes in /wb_config/wb_fckconfig.js by:
Code:
FCKConfig.FontSizes= 'smaller;larger;xx-small;x-small;small;medium;large;x-large;xx-large' ;
will do the trick. Will check the other FCK settings and then release this module during this week.

Hello,

just released the external editor FCKEditor v2.50 (the WB internal version is v2.80) on the WebsiteBaker Add-ons site. According to the developers, the v2.50 release is the most important release since v2.0. As most of the core files were written from scratch or moved to other locations, is is highly recommended to de-install any existing versions before installing the new one.

The WB LinkPlugin fix provided by the forum member melisa is included in the latest release.

Have fun

I came across a problem when using the new version 2.80 with firefox 2.0.0.11 :

When adding news or a new page, the title of the news / page is saved to the database, but not the content. I tested then 2.80 with opera and konqueror (i know about the problems with those browsers), and there the content is saved too. Then i uninstalled 2.80, reinstalled 2.77 and tested it again with firefox 2.0.0.11 and there everything works like it should.

Added: Sorry, should have mentioned that i've tested it with the linux version of firefox and opera. Server contains PHP 5.2.5 and MySQL 5.0.37

tested it with FF2.0.0.11 and v2.80 on WinXP (PHP 5.2). Everything works as it should.

Hi everyone,

I just installed the current version 2.80 of the FCKEditor on a WB 2.6.7 installation and face the problem, that the editor shows an error message when I try to add a picture. After clicking on "Server durchsuchen" (as ist is named in the german version), the popup appears but also the error message:

Error creating folder "/home/www/pr119/html/media" (Can't create directory)

Does anybody know how to solve this?

The media folder has 777 and uploading files via the media-page works fine.

Thanks & regards
Jochen

Hi all,

I have just done a fresh installation of WebsiteBaker 2.6.7 and noticed that there was no WYSIWYG when creating my pages.

i downloaded the FCKEditor Modul in the module addons pages, installed it and activated it in the settings, but still no change in pag creation.

Where I have to chose the type of the page, I have only two choices : code en form or the FCKEditor is listed in the modules section but still I cannot use it.

Pleas what might have gone wrong and how do I get this fixed Huh

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble with the FCKeditor. It works perfectly on my web host but not on my clients web host. I have the same website baker site set up on each host as I built it initially on my host before publishing for the client.

On the clients site the FCKeditor appears to install correctly and when I go to settings it appears in the drop down for the WYSIWYG and I have selected it. However when I go to pages and click on a page to edit the FCKeditor does not open up. It just hangs with whitespace in the area the editor should be eternally and the browser appears to be thinking. There are no errors but nothing happens. I am using firefox but I have tested in IE and exactly the same thing happens.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing multiple times but no luck.

Any ideas? All help / suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

looks like the file_upload_size is to small on your clients web host. This causes that not the whole module can be uploaded. As FCKEditor needs no database you can try the following:

1.) Uninstall FCKEditor via WB backend
2.) Unzip the modul and upload the whol module via ftp in the modules directory (look at info.php for dirname)
3.) Go in WB settings to advanced options to the reload tool at the bottom of the page and reload the modules
4.) activate FCKEditor in WB settings.

Did this solve your problem?

Hello,

on which server is WB running (IIS, Apache ...), which PHP version.
Please also check this analysis script (add code to a code page) and post the results (attache as textfile).

Regards Christian

[Edit]
Tested FCKEditor with disabled PHP functions: passthru, proc_open, system, shell_exec
The editor works without problems even if this functions are disabled via the php.ini file.

Hello,

if someone is interested in customizing e.g. the FCKEditor tool bar (or any setting defined via /fckeditor/wb_config/wb_fckconfig.js) for individual groups or even for each individual users, please have a look at the following thread.

after updating the module to 2.81 i cannot save the dited document anymore.
any changes i make will be lost after hitting the "save" button.

Any clue on what the solution can be?

it happens when using FF2.0.0.11, not while using IE7 on the same install.

Hello,

try to completely uninstall the modul, clean all your browser caches and then reinstall the modul.

Hi There,

I've just installed the newest version of FCKEditor, everything went well until i tried to,
insert an image, i'm getting the following error:

You don't have permission to access /modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/browser/default/browser.html on this server

With HtmlArea / Xinha everything works fine, but imo Xinha isn't safe enough, therefore i thought it would be the best to install the latest version of FCKEditor but sadly this gives me the above mentioned error  undecided .

Does anyone have a clue how to solve this?,

Thanks in advance,

Best regards GeoCom,  another Jamie Olliver in Training  wink

You could try adding the image using HTML.  Just switch to source view and use <img> tag.

Hi,

the last fully working fckeditor-module on my space was version 2.75. With later versions, I got the same error on uploading images. I hope that we see an actual fckeditor in the near future without this bug.

Hello,

well WB FCK modules up to 2.75 had a security vulnerability. From 2.75 we restricted access if a user is not logged into the backend. With the WB module 2.80 we introduced the new code basis of the FCK core files (2.50) . With this release, the FCKEditor developers have re-written most files from scratch.

We have about 5 testenvironments (Unix, Linux, WinXP, Vista) with different PHP versions and MySQL databases which are working without any problems.

We can only fix problems if we can reproduce them. However could not reprocude the problems mentioned here in the forum on our testenvironsments. This fact in combination with error statements like: "it does not work - help", makes is hardly possible to shine some light on what is wrong with some server configurations.

If anybody has problems with the FCKEditor release please provide as much information you can (Server configuration, Hosting company, Webserver (Apache, or something else), Browser + version ...).

Best regards
Christian

WebsiteBaker 2.6.7
FckEditor v2.50

Working fine for me, but I wanted to add access to an additional user. So I added a new usergroup and tried to set permissions so that this group could access fckeditor, but it is not displayed on the Access --> Groups --> MyNewGroup --> Modify --> Module Permissions.  WYSIWYG is there (which I gave this group permissions for), but not FckEditor.

The module is active on my install and displays this info for Module Details:
Module Details
Name: FCKeditor
Type: WYSIWYG Editor
Author: Christian Sommer, P. Widlund, S. Braunewell, M. Gallas, Wouldlouper
Version: 2.80
Designed For: WebsiteBaker 2.6.x
Description: This module allows you to edit the contents of a page using FCKeditor v2.50.

Any ideas on why I can't do this?

Hello,

you need to set the media access rights controlled by WebsiteBaker for this group (advanced settings). Specify if the user is allowed to view, upload, create folders.

Only if this permissions are set, users of this group can access the media directory with FCK.

Doc,

Thanks so much for your reply.  That definitely helps but it did not take care of all of the problem.  For that User Group, I have set Pages to all View, Add, & Modify Content; Media to View, Create Folder, Upload File; and Module Permissions to WYSIWYG and Code.  My WYSIWYG is setup as FckEditor in my system settings.  I have everything doing exactly what I want it to do, but the Editor.  For some reason, no WYSIWYG editor is coming up, just an empty box for entry.

I am trying to get this setup so that I can use Website baker on an additional website I run for Rare Cancers.  I want to use it so that my forum users can submit their own personal cancer stories.  Right now, I have to have them send it to me and set it up through HTML.  It would be nice if they could input and edit it themselves.  Then, for the newly diagnosed, they could do it in a journalized format and that would be very beneficial.

Thanks for any help you can give me for this project.
