@YeShakka

definitly now, because there are a lot of adjustments for WB. Time to document this now so the community knows what changes should be made when a new version is released.

Hello,

Hans mailed me today a solution for the issue in the german language file from the WB Link Plugin. We are now using unicode (ü = u00fc) instead of htmlcode (ü = ü) for the german special chars wich should solve this problem now on all browsers.

Added this to the modul at the addons repository. Attached you find the changed file. Rename this file to de.js and copy it in plugins/WBModules/lang Folder of FCKEDitor modul.

This is only needed for WB-Link Plugin for German languages. If you don't need this, you need nothing to do.

Thanks Hans for this, i tested it and it worked fine.

Have fun

I'm having hosting issues at the moment. They have screwed with security settings and file permissions. I tried to upgrade the module, and have managed to ruin my site even more.

I managed to uninstall the old version. I couldn't get WB to install the new version (I think because of the new security settings). So I unzipped the package into the directory, and tried to recreate the database entry.

Something is still not quite right. The WYSIWYG editor isn't showing at all on some pages.

Any ideas at all?

Hello,

when you ftp the modul, you only have to reload (Admininterface -  Settings - Advanced Settings at the bottom of the page) the modules to get the database entry.

just a quick question:
whats the required filename to have a template driven css inside the editor-area again at version 2.2 or 2.3?

tried these:

fck_editorarea.css
editor.css
fck_editor.css

thanks

Why can't I get to the link where the completed modules are supposed to be.  I need to find the latest FCKEditor Module and the Latest WYSIWYGmod if the previous needs it.  Thank you.

hello everyone,
a few pages back i wrote about a problem i had when trying to access the media-area with the fckeditor.

unfortunately the problem persists. i stll get this mysterious XML-request error 12152 when trying to browse the media-area.

i tried www.mydomain.com/modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/test.html#

to check the php connector for the XML output. it says "permission denied"...

besides this i treid to set up the connector first:

opend file /modules/fckeditor/lib/fckconfig.js
row 132:
from
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
var _FileBrowserLanguag e = 'asp' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | lasso | perl | php | py
var _QuickUploadLanguag e = 'asp' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | asso | php
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
to
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
var _FileBrowserLanguag e = 'php' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | lasso | perl | php | py
var _QuickUploadLanguag e = 'php' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | lasso | php
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

so this must be a permission thing i'm not able to fix at the moment Sad

i'm running a suse 9.0 with confixx for easy administration (shame on me i know Wink), but it suits my needs perfectly this way.

safe mode is turned off (local value)

i tried to chown /media & /modules from web1:web1 to wwwrun:www & chmod 777 with no success...

any ideas really appreciated Smiley

bye

Tried the connector test

running on redhat 9, client xp with ie, no problems

What you can as a test, get latest fckeditor from fck, set it somwhere on server and try that one first
If that doesn't work either, must be some browser/server issue

If the test does work, look at the configs

Good luck,
John

hey john,
i found a workaround, but to be honest i don't quite understand the need of this...

the first situation was like this:

Document Root /srv/www/htdocs/web1/html
the 'html'-dir belongs to web1:www at #750

after trying a little i discovered fckeditor needs a little different document root:

so i changed the document-root to this
'/srv/www/htdocs/web1/html/dummy'
and gave 'dummy' to web1:web1 at #750

and everything works fine now. what could be done to my permissions to avoid 'faking' the document-root each time, since my permission seem a little too strinct in some way by default?

do you've got any ideas? Smiley i would love to know why using the 'web1' group is bettern than 'www' in this case?

bye

linux-permissions

what are the permissions and who is owner for media?, fck need that for filestart.

try setting html to 770 and all the paths needed for fck as well
media etc..
setting to 770 shouldn't care who is owner, who is group (www/web1) cause they get same rights

remember, fck runs as apache user, not as ftp user

remember as well that permissions are allso backward
ie, if user www doesn't have execute/read rights in srv then he can't have it in /srv/www etc

my permissions on the dirs
/home                               755 root:root    (apache and user may read and execute)
/home/user                       755 user:user   (user may all, apache read/execute)
/home/user/html               755 user:user   see above
/home/user/html/media    775 user:user   (apache and user can all, rest (ftp etc) read/execute)

the group apache is added to the user group
I have too much rights here, but it works... Wink and is fairly safe, haven't had any trouble, but...
I am the only user on this server with ssh rights...

Good luck, testing - debugging....

hey john,

thanks for a little excursion / lending a helping hand to linux permission Smiley

yeah i'll try to set the document-root to 770 hoping this is not affecting security  shocked wink

--> i just tried to lower restructions to 'html' with 770/777 with no success...
strange stuff, isn't it? even 777 does not do the trick?!

well, i have to expand the document-root then i gues... but thanks anyway for all the help! Smiley

look at the folder below html!!

And did you chmod -R (same for chown -R

What I would do (but then again, who am I? Wink )

I would copy html to html_spare
then cd ..
to be in the folder above html
then chown user:user html -R
this way all the files will be belonging to user and group user (I think the group user has the www user in it)
then chmod  770 html -R
this way only the user and the group will get full access everywhere

then retry

If this works, it is a permission problem
If this doesn't work, remove html and rename html_spare to html to go back to old situation

Other simple option is to tell httpd.conf (or conf.d/your_virtualserver.conf depending on your install) that the html root isn't html but html/wb
restart apache and voila.

Good luck, happy hunting.

Hello,
I really like this editor, but I have a problem that I cannot fix and I hope you can help me:
styles in the dropdown from the editor lie behind the Textfeld. So when I click on the dropdownbutton beside styles, I see the dropdown comes out, I can see it in the little gap between the stylewindow an the textarea, but it does not lay over the textarea, but behind, so I cannot see the styles and choose one.
I hope you can understand my problem, sorry, my English is not very good.

I have the latest version, as I installed my WebsiteBaker at the beginning of July and downloaded several modules some days later. I'm still using one of the default templates that were there.  (I'm already doing another, but this is not online now).
At first I thought ok, this might be IE's fault, but I have the same Problem in Firefox.

I hope you can give me a hint how to solve the problem.

Greetings from Bavaria,
Sufie

Hello Sufie,

again me and my bad english  wink  wink.

This Problem is know. The styles in the dropdownlist are formated like the classes to show you how they look like. If you now have styles with big margins and paddings these values are shown in the dropdownbox. As the the dropdownfields have a fixed width, some styles couldn't be read.

I'm not shure if this is a fckeditor problem or a problem of our stylsheet implementation script. We have no solution for this right now.
