Aaaah,
searched for this issue in the fckeditor forum several times. Seems that the patch does what we need. So i think the next release of fckeditor modul for wb is coming out soon

ok guys,
thanks to succhi who found a patch link in the fckeditor forum. Based on this, i created a patch for the fckeditor modul. What does this patch do at the moment:
When you use the browse server from fckeditor modul you now got only window with all subfolder from the media dir, no more f..... resource typ list.
Attached you find the changed files, only overwrite the existing files.
Hope you like it, and if this is the case, i will include this in the next version of the FCKEditor Modul.
Have fun
Matthias

Hello,
if you unzip you see the same structure as you installed fckeditor modul. So it should be easy to find out, wich files should be replaced.
But please, this are only changes for testing if it works. It's recommanded not to use it on production sites. Found a little issue, wich have to be solved, before we release a new complet modul.
The issue i found: Adding images or files we have a double "//" in the path.
Matthias
Edit:
Solved the double "//" issue. Changed the files in the post above with the fixed ones.

Hi Bakers,
I have read somewhere on this forum about integrating your css into fckeditor so that you can use its contents in the style drop down box. Can anyone tell me how you can do this, which if any fckeditor config files would I have to change/update?
Cheers,
Sandy

@sandy
You only need a editor.css file in your template. Nothing has to be changed in the FCKEditor modul (if you use the latest one).
To create a editor.css, only make a copy of your screen.css, or the css file where your layouts in. Now you can edit the editor.css wich styles should be shown in FCKEditor.
Have fun

Hi Matthias,
What is the latest version of fckeditor, I have installed fckeditor v2.2, created an editor.css from the round template made it the default style sheet and it still does not work?

You don't need to make editor.css the default style sheet. The idea is to have a screen.css for the screen and a additional editor.css for the editor. This gives the most abilitys. Both can be the same or both can be totally different. Not everyone wants all styles from the screen shown in the dropdown from the editor. In some cases you need different files. The Editor gets his background color from the body tag. If you have in your template for the contentarea another color then for the background, the editor shows the color from the background. This was the main reason for the additional css file.
Hope this helps
Matthias
P.S. if you use fckeditor modul v2.2 from completed modules you use the newest and very hot version from yesterday night.

Hey, i know this may seem like an odd question, but i want to strip fckeditor of alot of its features if this is possible?
I want to use this for a flash website, that will read HTML files to dynamic text boxes. THe problem is flash only supports a limited amount of tags. Not all the ones that are offered in the editor. For my clients i would love to have an interface that doesn't have useless, confusing features.
How could I go about customising this?
Thanks
EDIT : ACtually nevermind, I didn't realise how easy that was to do... I've got it setup how I wanted now thanks

On a site I have running 2.5.2, I uninstalled an older version of the module, then installed the new one. Now when I go to the Settings area, I can't choose FCKeditor instead of HTMLarea. Any ideas?
Melissa.
PS: Just looked at the module details, perhaps the Type=Unknown has something to do with it? Also noticed that it says the module platform is 2.6 in the info.php. Does that mean I can't use this with 2.5.2? Aargh.
Name: FCKeditor
Type: Unknown
Author: Petter Widlund, Stefan Braunewell, Matthias Gallas, Wouldlouper
Version: 2.2
Designed For: websitebaker
Description: This module allows you to edit the contents of a page using FCKeditor 2.2; includes the php-connector patch from tallyce

Hello melissa,
the latest modul from completed modules and from addons repository is written fro WB 2.6.x. If you wanna get it working with WB 2.5.2 you have to do the following steps:
1.) You need the wysiwygmod. Download it from
here
. Unzip it and overwrite the files from WB 2.5.2 with the one from this mod.
2.) WB 2.5.2 couldn't install moduls with subfolders in it when they are not zipped. So look at modules directory from WB 2.5.2 and compare the installed files from FCKEditor modul with the ones from a unzipped FCKEditor modul package. Copy the missing folders and files with ftp to your WB 2.5.2 installation
3.) To get the modul details displayed correct you have to add some lines to the info.php of the FCKEDitor modul.
Code:
$module_type = 'WYSIWYG';
$module_designed_for = '2.5.2';
Now you could use FCKEDitor modul with WB 2.5.2

Hooray! Thanks Matthias.
It was messy to fix up. 2.5.2 unzipped everything into the root directory. Yuck.
I did have FCK installed already so I was upgrading. It all works now, and finally I can enjoy not having the File/Image etc menu!

For me, the linking button is working fine, but not the image button, on my 2.5.2 install. No probs on my 2.6.x installs.

@olli and aggiedad
Wich OS and wich browser did you use?
The modul is tested in XP with firefox 1.5.0.2 and IE and works without any problems. I only know that some firefox tools cause problems.

i've got german xp sp2 and tried internet explorer and latest firefox. both no go....
the strange thing is: local development with XAMPP on XP works fine. installing everything onto my dedicated linux server i get the error.
switching firewall/content filter on/off did not help.
thanks

Hello
Quote
my dedicated linux server
At installation from WB on your server install window all was green? Safe mode on or off, Session enabled or disabled?
In wich way works apache as modul or as cgi? Look with "phpinfo();" what is the value at "Server API".
The most webservers are linux based at we had no problems with this modul on it. So on your server something seems to be different.
Maybe its only a permission problem. Wich permissions have modules dir and media dir?
Did you change the media dir to another dir?
Just ideas, a little bit more information would be helpfull.

hi ruebenwurzel,
thanks for lending a helping hand.
phpinfo(); got these for me:
-php v4.3.3
-php safe mode local value off master value on
-server api Apache 2.0 Handler
-all permission on both dirs set to 777 for testing
-no change made to the media dir structure
do you need to know something else?
what i basically did was developing the site locally and then exporting the database to a file. after that i used search & replace to correct all file paths from
http://localhost/site
to
http://www.domain.com/
.
after that i transfered all files by ftp and corrected the file permissions.
i used to do it like this several times - but fckeditor 2.2 does not seem to like this anymore.
there is no special path inside fckeditor that needs to be corrected too, right?
i checked all permissions and site paths again with no success, so this seems to be a linux issue somehow as you already supposed...
do you have any other idea? i really appreciate this
thanks

Howdy Ruebenwurzel!
Thanks for your guidance.
My host is as follows:
Linux, with kernel version 2.6.9-34.ELsmp
Apache version 1.3.34 (Unix)
PHP verson 4.4.2
mySQL version 4.1.18-standard
All my folders are set to 777 or 755. Unlike Olli, I installed FCKeditor to an existing website. I have no trouble accessing the files with editor that comes with WB.
My browsers are Firefox v.1.5.0.2 and Internet Explorer v.6.0.29. The problem is both of them.
Thanks!

Hello Olli,
where you browse what?
I'm not shure but i think your warnings and errors are from missing files or folders. Are you shure all files from the modul are at your server and at the wright place? Never had this problems and couldn't reproduce them.
