gallery with annotations

I'm looking for a gallery in which I can annotate the pictures with some lines of text?
Purpose is that you have one overview page with the pictures, if you click the picture for an enlargement, it opens on the same page - with some text (WYSIWYG ?) about that picture
The current image galleries do not offer such a functionality (as far as I can see)

I am currently working on an image gallery which will l offer this sort of functionality.  It is very early stages right now but I will post something to try out as soon as I can.

hopefully soon once i get the edit/delete images functions working i should be able to write the install file and post an alpha version

Sounds great, this is a feature I have missed myself as well, in all the picture modules. I hope you succeed.

Thanks, hopefully it will meet the needs of as many users as possible.   Though it is currently styled and laid out ina similar fashion to swift gallery (the gallery mod I am currently using on my site) my hope is to give a choice from several gallery types that can be chosen upon gallery creation.

Hopefully once I get this to some kinda of stable stage developers of other gallery mods will step in and additional gallery types.
