I upgraded a (stagnant) website from 2.6 to 2.6.7 to 2.7 and all went fine.  During the upgrade to 2.8 the upgrade script completed without errors, but I cannot use the website.

When loading the pages, we get the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class database in /path/to/website/name/wb/framework/class.database.php on line 209

I have moved the extra modules out, extra themes out, etc.  I don't know what is causing the error, but figured that would not hurt.

Any ideas?  Thanks for the help.

Update:

About 28 hours after updating the files on the server, the admin site suddenly started working.  The content/user pages are not working yet.

Everything seems to look fine in the admin tool.

Any ideas as to what happened?  Anything I can do now to make the rest of the website work?

Thanks.

The issue with the admin site could be a cookie or caching issue ... The other error seems to point to a customisation, a Template or code which uses a different DB connection for it's functions.

Do you have the same issue with the standard templates?

cheers

I just checked the website.  It seems to be working fine now.  Perhaps a caching issue, I don't know.  I had changed from the custom template to 'Simple'.

I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the reply.

When it happened after you changed template, then it might indeed be the template causing the problem. Which one are you using?

cheers
