I have been using 2.8. I have not added any modules. Just what is out of box on install. When using the insert hyperlink, then the browse server I get this.

Code:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/browser/default/browser.html on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

every browser, opera, IE6,7,8. I tried the demo and it works in opera so its on my server. I have been reading post and they are about fckeditor. does the permission 777 have to go back to the module director. I mean the editor is working but not the file manager.

server I have safemode off. thats kind of scary but. Everything is working uplaod to media directory, the media browser is working just fine. Thats at permissons 755, so I'm stumped.

Now that I think about it this case if I was browsing the server it would be in the pages directory. (insert hyperlink). thats in public_html.  Oh well.

If someone may beable to point me in the right direction It would be helpfull.

I never will be going to understand about all issues with FCKeidtor the users have, I'm working with 3 different versions, from 2.6.3 to 2.6.5 and get never such errors. My own server is PHP cgi, then i have webspace by 1&1 with different owner and groups.

So i think it's a problem with your webhosting

Thanks for the reply

FCKeditor module is working I use it all the time, but the file browser I'm denied access. Access to all other modules with no error just fine. I just can't understand why access denied to that specific function of the module and not the hole module. I'm using FCKeditor 2.6.4.

I'll try upgrading.

The Host is 365-Hosting.

Sometimes there are problem with open_basedir settings by webhosting. Hmmm

You have access to the plugin, but the plugin not the access to folders, most of the issues are permissions error

It just seems like there is two plugins here the editor, and a file browser. The browser being a plugin of the editor. after install I saw a file fm.zip in the temp folder.

I'll check my servers open_basedir setting, and play with the permissions somemore.

Thanks again I post back if I figure it out.

Just still trying to figure why. I have an install on a different server and the browser works just fine. Installed from cpanel, as to a manual install on the other server. same version 2.8 still no luck getting it working.
