Hi all,

I was done a website for a client, and some formatting were off with the News page. So I worked for about 2 hours, trying all sorts of CSS/HTML variations, trying to push the left and right margins inside the page a bit more. Nothing happened all this time.

So in desperation, I found the page where I could "reset" the module, but before I could read all the instructions, I clicked... and deleted all the entries.

I have done a database backup before upgrading to 2.8, so I imported it, but the News still don't show.

I'm royally screwed if I can't fix that...

Anybody know a way to fix this?

The site is http://www.canadiankitecompany.com

Much appreciated!

Andre

Do you again run the updatescript?

Hi,

Not sure I understand your question? Do I have to run the update script a second time?

My problem was that the posts spill over in the left column and out of the right column outside of the template boundary. I wanted to change the padding to squeeze the posts within the page.

Also, when I go to Settings now, there's nothing left in the fields, and if I modify unlimited posts to any number, it doesn't save anything...

Thanks!

Hi Dietmar,

I did import the database copy I had done, but it didn't help. Something I'm missing?

thanks again,

I don't know, if you understand me. You did a backup from WB 2.7 and you restore this backup to WB 2.8. If yes then you have to run the updatescript, because the structure had changed.

I look again your side, know i see the news.

search following style
Code:
margin-top: 20px; margin-left: -10px;

and set margin-left to 10px

then it looks fine

Hi Dietmar,

update-script.php? is this safe? won't that reset my whole site to default? Won't I lose all the graphic template work so far? And will that restore my database content?

The news on the site right now are just some I recopied and setup there. They're not the result of any restoring action.

Thanks again!

The upgradescript only set additional columns or settingvalues in tables. It don't destroy any database or restore.

Other question,
May it be that you use a snippet, like anynews to show the news?

Very clever, yes! I did use AnyNews.

I did fix some of my issues, except I didn't get the content back, and was having some editing problems with the layout of the News. Maybe I should go back to AnyNews?
