I just installed WB 2.8 and I can create pages but I can't edit them.  When I create the page as WYSIWYG the
FCKEditor does not show up at all. I get the page editing screen but the FCKEditor is not showing up.
IF I create the page in Code view I can paste the code into it but it does not show up when I view the page.
I tried to install the newest version of FCKEditor but It says it is already installed and it wont let me uninstall it.
This is happening on both Mac and PC in all web browsers.

Please help!

I can wipe everything out and start over.

I thing there is something really wrong with you webhosting. what about the chmod settings and mod_securyty an so on? Can you tell us a little bit about your system? Don't think it's a WB problem.

I startet a new Installation with WB 2.8 Revision 1171, No problemes with add and editing pages.

It's no problem for me to delete all and test installation with your information. Which WB Version do you install. Is it the revision  1132 dowloading from the start page?

What are your next steps?

If i get more information, i do an install like yours

I am going to uninstall it and install the latest 2.8 stable build and see if I have the same problem.

I think that it might be a server setting issue. I can't get the files to be writable without setting them to 777 Sad
I have a call into my business partner that set up the servers.

We have 2 web server platforms running virtual machines in a high-availability load-balanced cluster configuration.

Specs per cluster machine:
8 x 1.8Ghz AMD Opteron 64-bit Processors
64GB RAM
2.8TB HDD
2TB local backup
Unlimited remote backup
2 redundant power supplies connected to separate UPS systems
1GB private network connection (connects cluster together)
100MB public network connection (connection to the world)

Everything is mirrored every 5 min  incase one of them goes down. We moved a couple site to our cluster that run on an older version of WB and they work fine.

Get your partner to check ownership and permissions or let him rework the user/group concept in a way that there are no conflicts between FTP and WWW user (that is the 777 bit).

cheers

Well It is a server issues I believe. Unless I set the permissions to 777 the installer says that it is not writable.  We are trying to figure why.
