Dear friends,
did you find a way to upgrade an existing installation of the modul? Is there any way to export or import items ... to use kml files ... I´ve installed the latest version 1.2.59 of dfelix - without any possibility of export or upgrade ...
THX

Hi Andreas,
I think nobody was working on that feature so far..(unfortunately)
cheers
Edit:
But, I think you can just replace files via ftp or whatever since there is no DB changes.. (and please make backup just to be save before you do this..)

Hi crnogorac081,
thanks - it´s good to know that there aren´t any changes in the database. So I will try your/this way ... but for the future it would be cool to have such a possibility or feature
Maybe anyone could create this, I´m not a coder ... unfortunately ...
... but I think I´m a ceative person and have many ideas
Regards
Andreas

Since there aren't any database changes you should just be able to install it over your existing one. All that the upgrade.php file is for is changes that are more than simply uploading the new files.

NO !
Dont do that, as it will drop your existing tables on install, and you will lose all your markers you entered so far !!

Hi crnogorac081 - I took your way, the way over ftp - and after reloading the modulinfo all works fine ... I also choused the way of westhouseit ... but there was no effect (not in the tables and not in the modul on this website (it´s only a testspace ...
- maybe there is a problem with my provider (filesettings 777 and such things) on this space ... will try this later on an other webspace ... it would be the better way, because sometimes there could be any changes in the db ...
... we need an export feature for the items
THX for the hints and mind
Andreas
EDIT:
... mhhh, one effect isn´t nice - round icons are now elliptical

Okay, upgrading works. All I did was add an empty upgrade.php. v1.6 attached.
Please make sure to backup first, even though it worked for me doesn't mean it's guaranteed to work for you.
With regard to icon sizes, modify the sizes on line 59 of view.php to hard code a new size. Once buildGSize is fixed this won't needed anymore.

... uupps - I´ve not seen your german language file
I made one by myself - ok anyway I changed some things, so I think we will have a new version like 1.7
v1.7 (arogait 2011/02/14)
+ Added German translation
+ Admin-Url replaced by Theme-URL in the modify.php (Now Map Baker is using the back-end style of WB 2.8.x!)
+ Configurable map style (border-width, border-style and border-color) in settings
There is one question to anybody - could you help me to get ready this version? I need the following translations for this module, because I changed some things and integrated new fields:
french
$MBTEXT['MAP_BORDER_WIDTH'] = 'Largeur de la bordure la carte (1; 2; 3 ...)';
$MBTEXT['MAP_BORDER_STYLE'] = 'Style de la bordure la carte (none; hidden; dotted; dashed; solid; double ...)';
$MBTEXT['MAP_BORDER_COLOR'] = 'Couleur de la bordure la carte (RGB Hexdecimal #FFFFFF - red; blue; black; white ...)';
portuguese
$MBTEXT['MAP_BORDER_WIDTH'] = 'Cartão de borda larga (1; 2; 3 ...)';
$MBTEXT['MAP_BORDER_STYLE'] = 'Cartão de estilo de borda (none; hidden; dotted; dashed; solid; double ...)';
$MBTEXT['MAP_BORDER_COLOR'] = 'Cartão de colorido de borda (RGB Hexdecimal #FFFFFF - red; blue; black; white ...)';
These are translations I made with google …
so I´m not really sure – is this right?
… and I found an issue with version 1.6 and of course in the new one maybe you can help too – there is an error in the backend with the
modify_marker.php
if the
php_error_settings
in the backend are on
E_ALL&E_STRICT
you will get an error_message:
Notice: Undefined index: marker in /mapbaker/modify_marker.php on line 29
Notice: Undefined index: latitude in /mapbaker/modify_marker.php on line 30
Notice: Undefined index: longitude in /mapbaker/modify_marker.php on line 31
Notice: Undefined index: description in /mapbaker/modify_marker.php on line 32
Please be carefully if you will update an existing installation - in this case you will not get a border around the map because you need 3 new fields in the database - I´ve to find a solution for this issue, maybe an updatescript ... any idea?
Please have a look at the attached file ... this is one way to make the change in your database until we´ve found a solution - if you will do this before updating the module there is no problem to use all features with this module ...
Thanks!
Andreas

Sorry, but I don´t understand your question. There are 2 possibilities to set one or more markers. You can add a marker after you created a new category in the backend of the module. In this case you choose "add new marker" ... after you did this you will see a map where you can set or put your pin on the map (take your mouse to do this) - call the marker how you want and save your settings - that´s all
In the other case you need a GeoRSS or a KML-file (you can create such a file with google-earth for instance ... or take a file you will find in the web ) If you have the URL you can put it in the backend ... please make your own experience with one example I used on our website ...
http://www.goisrael.com/Israel_Tourist_Attractions.kml
(It´s a working KML-file ...)
Regards

If you have any question ... please feel free to ask
Maybe you want to use the new version MapBaker 1.65 - No new fields are inside (no changes in the database are necessary) - anyway you can update your existing version ... I want to make the next version with some new ideas - maybe I need time and some input. If you have an idea - feel free ...
Version MapBaker 1.65
+ Added German translation
+ Admin-Url replaced by Theme-URL in the modify.php (Now Map Baker is using the back-end style of WB 2.8.x!)
Regards
Andreas

Hi All,
I have a little problem using a kml link.
My default text color on my site is white so the name and description in the baloon of a marker is not visible.
If I add a marker with the module it uses the code you setup on the settings-page. In this code I can set some styling options.
With the kml file it does not use the settings you setup there.
Is there an easy way to change the module to use the same settings?

Re: Map Baker Module - More than 4 categories please...

For some reason MapBaker won't save more categories now that I've made 4 of those. It lets me "Add" a new one, I fill out the form, click Save, the module says "Succesful", but the new (5th) category is NOT saved.
Any idea why this happens and how I can fix it?
(Version 1.65)
