Hi,
first of all:
Where to put this smarty-folder? Within WB? within modules? Within temp?
@Boudi
Think about templates for FCK - This could help You out.
I like things working....

@Vyni
You mean creation of table cells? If so, you are right. This could be a solution too. But when you are dealing with lots of products it can be a hard thing to implement tables every time.
But I made another small change at the mod. Normally when entering a product + picture the text is on top of the picture. I didn't like that so I created a table in which the picture is now on the left and the text at the right. I fixed the width so when entering more products they're all nice and neat under each other.
Besides that I made the pictures clickable too, not only the title of each product.
I think this way it looks more slick. (watch:

Yes,
but if a table is ok, You could make a 2 column or even a multi-column-template for the FCK-Editor. Later, You just klick a button and You get the table i.e. 5 rows 3 colums, or whatever You can imagine as table. The only thing is to create them and save in a xml-file. FCK should be able to use it.

Hi bakers,
I am using the Catalog module and found a bug. When you delete and element, the page does not refresh. The reason for this you can find in lines 58 and 60. In line 58 there's a variable called "$query_cliente1", while in line 60 they call variable "$query_element1". So the fix is to change "$query_cliente1" in line 58 to "$query_element1".
Hope this helps other bakers.

### UPDATE CATALOG MOD ###
Hi,
I created a small update on this mod:
- Fixed deletion error (thanks to Tyronne)
- Implement WYSIWYG editor in the short description (so short & long description are both WYSIWYG!)
- Changed some icons
- Added DUTCH language file
Download, unzip and overwrite the current files with these ones
Enjoy!

Hi Boudi
wouldn't it be better to zip a new catalog module with a new version?

Yep, you're right. But the thing is that this is my first mod update. When I want to install the new zip the field ends up blank.
Therefore Idid it this way.

Hm, install is no problem. No errors too when building up groups and products but the frontpage is fully white.
Strange. I use the same files.

Hi Boudi
I updated an existing page with the new zip:
http://www.rvb.bplaced.net/pages/shops/catalog.php
Everything works fine, and the moduel information shows version 1.1
Did you update a page or install the module to a installation without an old version?

I did both, upgrade and new.
Very strange indeed. But since it works on my clients website and with yours I assume it works nice.
Hope there are more users willing to try this updated version.

Hello Boudi
First of all, thank you for this fine module. I appreciate it very much!
May I post a feature request?
I would like to include various levels of (sub-)categories on one main page. So far it is only possible to show one category after another on a single "page", but not a summary of all elements of all categories. Is this possible? It would be great to include another parameter/variable to specify the levels included in the summary page.
And here are more ideas for further improvements:
Right now there is only one template for the whole catalogue. This might be fine if the user has only one catalogue within his project. Any other user would like to have an opportunity to choose the appropriate template for his catalogue. Like in the news where you can specify your template based on this specific news section.
The ability to separate the list view of categories from the summary view would be nice too. A separate list of categories as a UL for a navigation in a separate column of the page template - not within the main page content.
As I am completely new to WebsiteBaker (and this is my first post to this forum) I haven't figured out yet how to define the page outputs. But I'm confident that I will a hold on this sooner or later
So that's it for the moment. Any fast answer would be appreciated because I have to decide which module to use. I'm in a need to build a portfolio for job application :/
Oh, and by the way: Nice avatar - I'm a predator fan myself
Kind regards

It is possible to create subcats. Just create a category. Then create another and place them under the maincategory. All these cats and subcats then are shown underneath each other on the page.

You can customize your Catalog almost exactly to your needs. (check a project of me:
www.telmakelaars.nl
- aanbod for example). However you need some basic skilzz to do that. Just edit the pages:
- index.tpl
- list_elements.tpl
- details_elements.tp

Hope you have some answers which you can bring you further.

Greetings, honorable Yautja warrior
Thank you for answering so fast
I wasn't aware of the fact that I could create sub-categories. Even nicer to have, thank you!
The main problem is: When you are on the very first page of your catalogue and you want to have an overview of all sub-category items they won't show up on the main page of the catalogue, only when you are on the "subpage" / view state of this sub-category.
What I need is something like in the picture I created as a visualisation for the desired output (please see the attachment).
As you can see not only all entries of all categories show up but the categories themselves are separated from the main view and serve in a separate list in a separate column like a regular (sub)navigation.
That's the goal I would like to achive with your fine module. Would it be possible to implement this feature in a very near future - let's say four weeks from now?
As for the templates - yes, I know that I can style the templates myself (luckily I have some basic knowledge about Smarty). But what I meant was this:
Suppose you have more than one catalogue for your project.
Suppose further that you need to style each catalogue completeley different than the other. Your are running into problems when you want to re-use the same catalogue template again. So it would be nice to have two additional fields: one for the template name (file name) for this specific catalogue and another for the path where these files are saved, let's say the template path for this project.
Regarding fields I have another idea: What about additional fields the user could implement himself? Right now there are "only" two content fields, the summary and the entry. What about some more the user could define himself? That could be rather nice to have for a fully featured catalogue. What do you think?
Oh, and one "last" idea: It could be nice to have the output of the entries not only listed in the order the user has manually given them but to sort them alphabetically (up and down) or chronologically (most recent first/last). Just another idea
Kind regards

Hi,
Sorry for the long wait
It's not that I'm very active with this mod. I simply don't have the time. Your suggestions would take lots of re-coding and that needs time.
But regarding to your first point (with image); why don't create several pages in the admin and give each page a catalog section.
Then on the page you want all your main cats nicely organized underneath each other just use this code for each category:
Code:
<?php $section_id
= [
color
=
red
]
01
[/
color
];
$query_sec
=
$database
->
query
(
"SELECT section_id,module FROM "
.
TABLE_PREFIX
.
"sections WHERE section_id = '
$section_id
' "
);
if(
$query_sec
->
numRows
() >
0
) {
$section
=
$query_sec
->
fetchRow
();
$section_id
=
$section
[
'section_id'
];
$module
=
$section
[
'module'
];
require(
WB_PATH
.
'/modules/'
.
$module
.
'/view.php'
);
}
?>
...and place the specific section for every page you created with the catalog section.
Then you get the same result as you have in your image.
Regarding the other points. May be there are other users who are willing to take the time to get busy with your wishes (open source
)
One thing that could be very handy: javascript admin.
Succes with it

I am finidng this a useful module. I tried to update but it broke the module but thankfully restoring the previous view.php fixed it. I hope you will continue to work on this. You can see the page in progress here.
http://stormvisions.com/pages/store/graphics-design-store.php
One problem I had with formatting turned out to be because I was using the Catalog module on another section of the site and it didn't like it. After hours messing with the formatting I finally took a look in the database and saw that Group 1 and 2 for both pages were in the same table (I don't know db so that's teh best explanation I got) and when I removed the other module it now works great.

Hi,
nice module, works fine (btw: inside the smarty zip file there are two "smarty" folders, only the one with the content has to be copied to the include directory in the wb root).
As usual, I have a question, e.g. feature request...
currently the search only links to the overview page of the catalogue module, but not to the page where the search keyword was found. It would be very great if this could be added. (Maybe according to the new(s) search - see Thorn's website
http://tinyurl.com/d6ydb9
?)
