Hi

I am not sure if I have posted in the right forum but I see that a classified module is being developed which is great but was wandering what one would need to do port or to get a Joomla extension to run in WB.

Thanks

Hi,

have created some modules which were inspired by Joomla modules in the past. Some stuff requires a complete rewrite (e.g. code which makes use of the Joomla API), other stuff may be taken over 1 by 1 (also depending on the license).

The effort heavily depends on the the complexity of the module to be ported.

Hi Doc

Thank you for your prompt reply.

There are a couple of very interesting extensions that I am investigating but can't tell if they are using the API:

AdsManager (http://www.joomprod.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1&Itemid=43&lang=en)
//

// This file is part of the AdsManager Component,
// a Joomla! Classifieds Component by Thomas Papin

// Email: thomas.papin@free.fr

The other is probably far too complicated as it has lots of components, plug-ins etc....

SOBI 2 - Sigsiu Online Business Index 2 is a directory component for the WCMS Mambo and Joomla!  to show entries of companies, clubs, persons, shops, products. (http://www.sigsiu.net/sobi2.html)

Doc would appreciate it if you could have a quick look at these programs only when you have a spare moment and let me know how feasible the tasks would be or if it's easier/better to use them in their native format under Joomla.

Many thanks.

Hi,

well both modules are quite complex and would require a lot of integration work to get it ready for WB. I doubt that somebody will jump on this to port it to WB. The AdsManager however looks very cool and would for sure be great to have as a WebsiteBaker module. Not too sure how flexible the shop system Bakery is, but maybe a good starting point.
