- links for each concert (as many as you like)

Hi Zeiflex,
Thanks for sharing. The module works all right. I like the previous concerts and archive especially.
If would suggest a few improvements though (if possible):
Since concerts usually don't take place every day, I think it would be better to show the first coming concert in the first field in stead of the (mostly empty field of) current date
I used an updated version of the event calendar which had the toggle function. This is very handy since the pag doesn't have to reload every time you click a certain concert. I attached the zip file.
Your Englisch is OK, by the way.

Vincent

I build in this function in the arcive view. It's a nice feature. But when I bulid in it everywehere the possibility to click on the date is needless, or isn't it?

Hi Andre,
no, it would also be nice for upcoming concerts. The page stays as is, but one could see the details of the concerts anyway. Look here
http://www.doelenensemble.nl/pages/nl/agenda.php
for an example. Scroll down a bit to the overview of concerts this season

Hello,
this is my first....
Hi Andre,
I've downloaded and installed the Concert module.
I respect your time and work you've put into it to improve the Event calendar. Thank you for that!
The Archive is exactly one of the things i was missing in Event Calendar.
However, i do miss some other options, wich i really would like to use myself.
It's not a criticism i will give next, but just some ideas maybe for upcoming releases.
I use Schedules for bands / musicians etc a lot.
Many artists wich i develop websites for wants more options to show to their visitors.
Most of the artists highly appreciate fields to fill like:
Event
: Name of the Event where the concert is givin
Date
: Date of the givin concert
Venue
: Name of club where the concert is
Place
: Town where the club is and where the concert is givins
Time
: Time when the concert is starting
Price
: Price how much the entrance is
Info
: Some extra info or website url
All these extra options could be filled by hand in the editor. I know that. But i rather would like to see more input fields they should fill instead of typing in the editor.
Also the order listing is something i prefer. Just like i typed it here. Right now in the Concert and Event module, the concerts are listed with the date in front of the Event name. But i think that is something wich i personally prefer to see or use.
Could you take this in consideration for possibly new releases of your Concert module?
If you take a look at this website:
Click
Navigate to Info/Schedule you can see something i've created and arranged for a schedule listing.
Also on the right of the website, in the yellow box. You see some headlines of the upcoming concerts.
This is something allmost every artist want to have. With Event Calendar it isn't possible to create those 'Headlines' for upcoming concerts/gigs.
Allthough, i am pleased with your release of 'Concert'. Very! I will use this instead of Event Calendar right away.
Sorry for the big comment and large amount of text...
Greetings,
Dave
*A Dutch language file is attached. You could add this into your core file if you like.

As we say in germany "Moin".
Sorry for the long time to wait, but I was very busy.
Hier the new version of the concert calender. Its version 2.1.
I hope you like it. The english and dutch languagefile could be improved, but i can't dutch. Sorry for that.
Hope you can help me
One problem... you have to remove the old version bevor you can install the new one.
Please report bugs to me. It was very late yesterday night. Hope it works
Changes:
+ add more inputfields
+ add more settings
+ fix bugs if there is no upcoming concert
- remove (in my eyes) needless functions
For a live Demo:
http://www.blank-gun.de/pages/termine.php
For a Screenshot:
http://www.websitebakers.com/pages/modules/calendar-and-time/concert-calendar.php?lang=EN
I work on aa "display anywhere" snippet for calender.

Great Andre. Very nice updates.
I'm excited about the 'display anywhere' option.
It's a highly recommended option to display headlines of a agenda/schedule.
Glad there is still development with the concert module.
Thank you!

I work on aa "display anywhere" snippet for calender.
something to display let's say the x amount of new/upcoming 'dates' like the anynews does for news, that would be awesome
any idea of when to expect this?

If I leave the wysiwyg field blank the concert info will not be saved, is there a solution for this, I do not need the wysiwyg field.

@vincent: your toggle-function works nice on your site, but not for me(on my sites).
after cklick on a event the toggle works but the site goes/springs on top.
@Zeiflex: nice module, i try change it to looks like event calendar. *g*
have 2 problems(only me?), 1 time add concert and 1 time save a concert.

I'd like to use this module for a communal event calendar, but it doesn't work with WB2.8?!
It seems that some database fields aren't created during install...
(edit)
just tried it on a WB2.7 site and it works fine so far.
I detected an error(?) when I try to use an internal link within the detailed information of the event:
[wblinkxy] will not be "translated" to the real url and this results of course in an 404

I like this module. I want to customise it a little.
Rather then saying
'Next concert is on' id like it to say 'Next performance is on'
what page in the module files do i need to modify to do this? ive looked through all of them but no luck.

I guess you'd have to change the language file. Check the folder languages in that module.

ok, a try as non-coder with changed droplet-code from eventcalender "get_events_x" works for me.
-------------------------------------------
name:
Get_Concerts
description:
get upcoming concert(s) from concert calendar
Code:
// Get_Concerts
global $database, $wb;
// Show how many items, defaults to 10?
if ( !isset($max) ){ $max = 10; };
// Fetch the items
$mod_query = $database->query("SELECT DATE_FORMAT(concert_date,'%d.%m.%Y') as Datum, concert_name, concert_desc FROM ".TABLE_PREFIX."mod_concert_dates "."
WHERE concert_date >= CURRENT_DATE "." ORDER BY concert_date ASC "." LIMIT ".$max
);
$mod_list = "";
while ( $row =& $mod_query->fetchRow()){
$mod_list .= '<a href="'.WB_URL.'/pages/termine.php"><span class="c_date">'.$row["Datum"].'</span><br />';
$mod_list .= '<span class="c_name"><b>'.$row["concert_name"].'</b></span></a><br />';
$mod_list .= '<div class="c_desc">'.$row["concert_desc"].'</div>';
$mod_list .= "";
}
return $mod_list;
comments:
use: [[get_concerts]]
for default 10 concerts (or change the default $max = 10 )
or
[[get_concerts?max=1]]
for the next one
---------------------------------------------------
you should change the path and the date-format...

is it possible to remove the "year" fields and make the entries appear every year
so this will function as a birthday calendar?

I noticed a very annoying bug.
I use Firefox ( i don't know if this has something to do with)
When i add a new concert i must type something in the editor. Otherwise the concert isn't saved.
Just typing some spaces in the editor is enough to save and list the concert.
But this is very annoying. Clients ask me a lot if i can change that, but unfortunately i'm not able to solve this.
I use Fckeditor if that matters. I tried TinyMCE, but when i use this editor the concert isn't even saved when i type some spaces in the editor.
Does someone knows a solution for this?
// Edit
I just noticed that, when i write something in the editor.
It is not visible at all on the frontend.
The concert appears on the frontend, but only when i type something in the editor.
But what i typed in the editor, that particular info is not shown on the frontend.

Thanks, this works perfect!
I was wondering if i could create the exact url of each concert.
So that it takes me like: schedule.php?date=2010-10-20
And maybe even better...
An url like agenda.php?date=2010-10-20-concert-name
This option would be also great in the core files of concert calendar.

I want to generate the url of each concert.
I have changed the line in the droplet:
Code:
$mod_list .= '<a href="'.WB_URL.'/pages/termine.php"><span class="c_date">'.$row["Datum"].'</span><br />';
into:
Code:
$mod_list .= '<li><a href="'.WB_URL.'/schedule.php?date=["concert_date"]">
But it's not woking properly.
The output url on the frontend is:
Code:
http://www.mywebsite.com/schedule.php?date=[
It's probably a php issue, but i cannot solve this so it creates the right url.
Does anyone have an idea?
