First of all: very nice modul! It does exactly what I want to do with it!! Except one thing, that's why I post my question here.

I've made a form with a HTML section in it. In this section I use a Title, Label and Selection boxes. But when I submit the form, the data of the HTML section is not included. I get the original layout of the HTML section, but the data is not in it.
The other fields of the form are ok, but just the HTML section not. Anybody an idea, what to do?

Date in the html section is static, you already know what is there.
It does not make sense to include redundant data, this is why it is not there.

Is it possible to include a function
'date of birth'

the calender as it is is no good for that...

date of birth should be 3 selectionboxes

Date of birth:   [      ] [       ] [      ]

I don't think you did think enough about it when you posted this request.
Your request is probably much more comprehensive.
So first figure what exactly you want and why you want another calendar when we already have one.

Frank, maybe he means the content of long text fields is not represented in the feedback.

Long text fields should be there, you can even configure how in the advanced ssettings.

PS: Argos, it was necessary to add some new fields to the language files of version 0.4.1, may be you can translate them to NL, too.

Doesn't make sense to me. The form IS the preview.

Okay let's put it down in another way...

is it possible to make a multi page form where the input from the previous form is displayed in the 2nd form

FrankH, while it may not make sense to you, fact is that many forms show a preview so that the user can check everything before submitting the form. Especially with long and complex forms, a preview can be useful and nice to have. Often mistakes are detected more easily in a preview, than in the form itself.

Absolutely right mr Argos,

and as the mpform passes the info/keeps the info from a previous form - when having a multipage form- I guess it has to be possible to show these inputs somehow...

would be a very nice extra feature

Possible is nearly all what you can imagine wink
You just have to put some code (which does what you need) into the appropriate private function.
See the tutorial for more info.

Sure, there is room for improvement  evil
It will be fixed in the next version, of course.
But I thought you prefer a working solution now  wink

Hi Frank,

Stefek draw my attention to MPForm as I was "struckling" with FormX.

Like in FormX, also MPForm saves uploaded file with a prefix. Can I configure somewhere not to use the prefix and only the filename (as the original)?

Thanks in advance.

On a public site, this would create a security problem.
So you can't change it by configuration, but by changing the source code. This is on your own risk, of course.

Hi Frank,

thank you for the answer.

The security is not an issue here. The upload will be visible to the world anyway through the dirlist module.

I found something in the ./pear/upload.php, but I am not sure exactly what to change.

I will give it a try.

Update:
Cannot find the line(s) where to change the mode.
I think it has to do with the $mode variable in the upload.php file, but cannot find where it is set.

Frank, can you give me hint?!

Update:
Found it. Commented out function "function setName" (line 638 and on) in /modules/mpfom/pear/upload.php .

Regards

I used the HTML field in a form today, and although it is in the middle of the form, it is on top of the list in the output page. I just put a paragraph of text into it. Is that not the purpose of it, and should it not be just at the place where i put it?

I have just found out the HTML problem is caused by the fact that it's unstyled content amidst table rows. If you put the HTML content between <tr><td colspan="3">blablabla</td><tr> then it works fine. But then you get a problem if you want to show the output on the page after submission. Then that same table structure makes a mess out of your site in most cases, because it's planted right in the source code of the page.

It sucks. What really should be added as an option is a field to just show text content. Call it Message or Text Block or something. It's often the case that you want to show an instruction or message in between the fields. Can you add that Frank? Or make it so that the HTML field just shows up where you put it.

Another thing: the captcha doesn't work. It rejects everything, also good answers. (latest official WB and latest MPForm)

OK, I didn't know that. Will do.

I found that you can use the Title field for short texts as well, but only if they are short, because it only accepts a limited number of characters and it's a regular text field instead of a text area field. And of course you have to remove the default Title class from the TD. So it's a usable workaround for small texts, and I would love to see a regular text area field for "in-between" texts. Will you please consider that?
