Guys, what do you think of this website for discussing WB developments, feedback and ideas?
http://www.uservoice.com

They have a free plan for open source initiatives: http://uservoice.com/for/opensource

I know it from Interspire, a company that makes software that I also use. For an idea of how a well used feedback forum looks like: go to http://ideas.interspire.com

Hello Jurgen.
I like this Idea:
http://uservoice.com/how_it_works

It looks as it is easy to integrate.

Something like this should be really integrated into the WB Project.

Yes, I think so too. I don't know who could initiate this?

Hi,

maybe I am thinking to simple. But I believe we have a very good and active wb-specified discussion-platform here in this forum. What do you think will be better there, than discussing here? Where do you see the big pros?

Best regards

Uwe

Hi Uwe,

this forum is great for discussions, and should stay ofcourse. The special feedback forum is more or less a super polling site. You can use it for suggesting NEW features, and you can reward suggestions with points, to indicate how important you think that feature is. You can use categories to structure features, etc. It is a much more structured way of making clear what new developments could be. It is a simpler and easier way of involving users in the development.

So it is a addition to this forum, only for enhancing a more structured way of developing WB. It is not meant as a subsitute for this forum. We can have discussions here without a problem. And we can vote for new features on the other site.

It was exact the same situation on the Interspire forum, and it really works! I was skeptical at first too, but I have seen it grow and I think it's a really good way of working on improving software, and let ordinary users become more involved.

Another important point is, that once registered, the people will stay informed about the progress on special projects/polls.
In this way you will get more (and more accurate) "answers" to the specifications and what is wished and wanted.

Furthermore it is more easy to start a competition (for example for Template Designers) for you have more possibilities to manage such a "game".

Hi Uwe, I think that the feedback system is also targeted at normal users, while this forum is targeted more at developers, and power users. So I think it's a real benefit. I hope some of the core team developers will set it up.
