Hello.

Erpe,
the last picture you uploaded - I have a hint for that.
It has to do with menu-link vs. page-title.
I would change the positions of them.

The Page title is used (mostly) for seo purposes (as descripton and keywords).

Regards,

Hello Everyone,

I have an update of multiplepage creation module. I have:
    added more permissions for page editing
    more checks for erroneous titles
    fixed ordering problem
    allow only submenu from pages that are already created

Please test out before putting in a production system. You must first uninstall multple page creator then install the enclosed file. Please provide any feedback. Sorry but the advance feature is not there yet.

allow only submenu from pages that are already created

Great, thanks!

Although I found the quoted feature (or was it a bug?) in fact really helpful, as it allowed you to create a complete tree with subitems. If you have removed that option, you must create parents first, then children, then children for each child, etc. MUCH more work.

Did you have a reason to remove this option?

Yes, I removed it because you could create a tree that was incorrect. Then your database would be corrupt. You could create a sub menu that was the parent of the submenu. Ex. Page 1 is a sub page of Page 2 and Page 2 is a subpage of Page 1.

I'm not a coder, but isn't that preventable somehow? That you get an error if you want to save such a situation?

yes it is preventable but right now I don't have the time to do it so I took the feature out. It may be added back in the future. You can only create 10 pages at a time so it is pretty easy to create the highlevel pages then fill them in with the next level. The only real issue it seems is if you want to go to a lot of levels but that is not advisable for other reasons. Also the positioning did not quite work correctly in the version that you have and gets even harder when you allow links for soon to be created pages.

Update to module that allows other people that are not administrators to use multiple page creator then edit the pages that they create. Feedback welcome.

Thank you for that module!
Just a note, for my purposes, "visibility: privat" would be a very much appreciated option. Are you thinking about implementing that feature in the future?

Cheers,
Michael

Hey Michael,

The problem is how to represent the selection for access to each page. If you have 10 different groups then the UI can be complicated. Any thoughts?

I changed tool.php. It has now 15 page fields, and you can enter separate menu titles and page titles.

Yep, it could be improved! Since I am no coder, I cannot do that. Because of the similarities between page title and menu title, I have been able to add that function, but your (good) suggestions are way too difficult for me...

Hi,

it's a very usefull module!!!!

just 2 things i see :
it will be better if you use in your tool.php, the constant PAGE_EXTENTION instead of ".php"
and the second thing is about the insert in the database, if you make your string like this in php, if you have a language with simple quote like in french, the page would'nt be created.

Code:
$sql = 'INSERT INTO '.TABLE_PREFIX.'pages
SET
page_title="'.$page_title.'",
menu_title="'.$menu_title.'",
parent="'.$parent.'",
template="",
target="_top",
position="2000",
visibility="'.$visibility.'",
searching="1",
link="'.$link.'",
menu="1",
language="'.$language.'",
admin_groups="'.$admin_groups.'",
viewing_groups="'.$viewing_groups.'",
modified_when="'.$time.'",
modified_by="'.$uid.'"';

thx a lot for your module!

I get

Quote
Notice: Undefined variable: pagetitlevalue in ...\modules\multiplepage\tool.php on line 280

when opening the module. (v0.9.9 (WB2.8.2RC7))

I'd love to use this module, although it is missing a few fields (I'd need to choose the language for every page, e.g.). But would be useful anyway.

Cheers,
Ralf.

This should be a core module in WB. Really useful for so many things!

Since 2.8 allows the ability to designate pages to a specific menu, is anyone able to adapt this module to be able to choose which menu the page will be added to (because I'm not! But I could really use that feature)? Perhaps it's a relatively simple edit of the tool.php file? If anyone knows how to do that, please post here.

Thanks, Argos!
