Hello Martin,

just downloaded WB2Go and gave it a try. Like what I have seen so far - well done. Maybe add some more templates and modules to future versions, so users get a fast overview of what WebsiteBaker is able to do.

Great contribution to WebsiteBaker - like it.

Regards Christian

P.S.: Maybe WB2Go could be moved to one of the advertisement boxes on the AMASP project page so users with JS disabled will recgognize this application more straight forward.

Hello Martin,

as i told you via PM. Think also that this is a great addition for WB. The only thing wich I doesn't like is the handling. When starting you see a WB site but not really see what you should do with this. So it would be much better:

- First to have a first start page where you only can choose the language

- Then on second page only the options to choose the Demo installation and an new clean WB version.

Also the pdf File from christian with the docu should be on this package. This way the users can reach the help without internet connection.

But the existing version is a good starting point for to make this fantastic tool better and better. At the stadium it is at the moment, i cannot use it for my clients (unfortunately). So i hope the next version will bring me the woooow effect.

this would be a real good feature fro the next version...

but first i will have a look to provide a dokumentation to burn a WB-project on CD...

to put a online-site on WB-Portable only follow the instructions of the help pages "from server A to server B"
http://help.websitebaker.org/pages/en/knowledge-base/moving-from-server-a-to-b.php

for burniing on cd there is a little edit of the server and firefoxportable to do... more later

for "spezial-use" for clients/customers this project is not created from my sight.... the main-reason is to give a basic portable application. this thing can be used in many ways...i think...

but make it more easyer to use is a clear-convention for the WB-portable that it fits to WebsiteBaker itself... wink

i think the woooow effect bring the users and there feedback for me - then i will continue!

@all users:   so please give me feedback

Hello,

the tool is awesome.

@Matthias
I understand your point of view - something is still missing for the WoooOOOW Effect, but as I know, it is still in a testing phase. There will be a additional attempt in order to enhance the Interface and its usability.

@Mr-Fan,you said:

Yes, I agree.
It doesn't take too much time to build your own "Application" using this Package as a starting point.

The possibilities are unlimited.

Thank you Martin for this huge contibution!
It will find it's way out - as a "dissemination-tool" also.

Regards,
Stefek

you did an excellent job! i will use it to show how WB is working. All the Moduls i´ve installed worked very well except der WYSIWYG Editors tiny and xina. (There is no message "successful")

really great work - ideal for testing! and when i´ve tested everything there is a button and WB installs an the real server;)

ok, for vista.... i can tell you that you don't see the nice icon that "stefek" created.... vista kicks the icon (must be implemented in a other way in the exe)

and you MUST run it with admin-rights....

have fun!

For Information:

*double html_background in the template .css fixed
*some pictures replaced with cleaner version (thanks to stefek!)
*edit the autoplay.inf for the right path...

Downloads until now (after two weeks) = 214!

Maybe you have wishes or feature requests

have fun martin

mr-fan,
when I discovered WB portable, I couldn´t believe it: was this really true? A working WB on a stick? I tried it out immediately and found all announcements fulfilled. Outstanding! Now I´m customizing the default WB installation to my needs (I intend to set up an own knowledge base on a stick).

Really big thanks to you and your work. I´m looking eagerly forward to your further development of this great solution.

There are 2 things I´m not glad about. They are concerned to server2go and apache: both components want to have web access when starting websitebakerPortabl e.exe. That is not good cause I need this functionality without internet access. When one reject this access by your firewall the WB does not start. Is there any solution to get it working w/o web access?

thx for your feedback!

only with the ideas of many there is a real development possible!

this is a "server2go" -side issue but i will figure out this problem

i'm just worked out the settings for the combination of those two easy running systems
the main reputation apllys the creator of the server2go timo haberkern and the developpers of website baker!
They do the work - i'm just figured out get running something "useful"..... wink
- but meantime i 've a very good connection to the developper of ther server2go project!

i will see what i can do!

HHmm, this is a fun development.

Maybe this is also a option for some:
I have a USB stick with portableapps.com software with xampplite and xampp control panel for portable apps.

Basicaly Running apache and mysql (xampplite) from USB stick and have installed WB on it and other webstuff.

I use this for testing and development and showcasing for clients.

But this development with server2go looks as a good option.

i know this xamp-pack....but server2go is much more powerfull!    cool

with the right settings (only one file for setting the whole server) you can burn a CD and run your webapplication from cd (give away for clients or demo-cds...)

with the right settings you can make a usb-stick-wb-installation that don't save any changes - maybe for training or other issues....

next weeks i've well earned holidays.... grin then i will make some short descriptions for the WebsiteBaker Portable to make a application-cd with the right setup for the firefox&server2go....and maybe other setup-doc's that depends on the WebsiteBaker Portable itself...

regards martin

THX for all feedback - i'am working not proffesionaly with this Stuff so i'm dependent on "you"  wink

Hi,

My AVG just did a scan on my PC and came up with three warnings for tracking codes for Doubleclick and Oewabox(?) in the wb portable files.

Anyone know what this is about?

Thanks,

Konrad

Hi Konrad,

Tracking Cookies do no harm - they just collect information about your way of surfing.

To get rid of them you can start the firefox inside the wb portable and clear all private data.

-bumb-

Just want to informate...... grin

WebsiteBaker Portable ~ is downloaded over 1000 times now!.... cool

Thanks again all who spend time for this project: Stefek (grafics) Doc (EN) Hans (NL) Chio/Erpe (Template)!

WebsiteBaker Portable 2.8 is comming next... wink

for all thoose give there clients a playground and they wanna a starting menu for Firefox&Server icons & maybe other stuff they can use this one (a small starting menu for the win taskbar...)
http://www.aignes.com/psmenu.htm

i use it - some clients close the FFP and they don't find back to start the browser from the stick - with the menu it's easy to restart the browser while the server is still running...

Is there a possibility that server works if I put instead 127.0.0.1 my real ip address ?? for example:  http://123.456.789.123:4001/wbdemo/  Smiley) (of course there is no number over 256 Smiley this is just an example Smiley )

cheers

To reach the portable Server by IP you have to modify the file pms_config.ini. In the section [host] change

Code:
HostName=127.0.0.1

to your desired IP. To make WebsiteBaker work correctly you also have to replace 127.0.0.1 with your IP in the config.php of the WB-Installation.

I don't know if this works for the external thing also. In this case you have to use the domain name in the config.php and perhaps 0.0.0.0 in the pms_config.ini. But beware that this could be a security risk.
