Hi

I'm trying to make the news module where visitors can add comments, but when I enable this feature, it does not show up. Whether I click Public or Private, no link to add a comment appears. What am I doing wrong? I'm using version 2.7

Hi,

first: here is not a (paid) support hotline, so don't get nervous if your question will not be answered     immediately.

second: after reading your question several times I can't understand what you want to achieve, perhaps you could explain a little bit more where your problem is ...

Regards Bernd

Ok, sorry about not being more clear...

It says that, in the News module, commenting can be enabled or disabled, public or private.

When I try to enable it, regardless of whether I set it for public or private, when I go to check, there's still no link that someone would click on to add a comment.

I hope I've explained it a little more clearly...can anyone please tell me how I enable comments in the News module?

Hello,

every single news-article has his own option "Commenting".
The overall-setting in Settings seems to have no effect at all !?

Well, that's the thing...I tried that, and there's still no link for visitors to click on to leave comments  huh
If I enable commenting from within where I add each individual news post, I get this message:

"Error creating access file in the /pages directory (insufficient privileges) "

Ok, I'm way confused. Can anyone help me around this one please?

Hello.

What happens if you write a new news right now?

Is there a link then?

Do you mean, a link where visitors can click to view the rest of the news story? If so, yes, that shows up fine...

Happy New Year every body
I have the same problem on one of my websites. The comment form links to the home page without saving the commentary. The commentary appears on the page neither public nor in the admin.

You can see an example at: http://www.jeromeadam.com/pages/posts/-la-2eme-chance-des-entrepreneurs--decalage-entre-discours-et-realite-6.php

Thanking you in advance.

Hello,

Please add the class nixhier to the css of your form.

Quote
/*** Don't remove the class nixhier, this is required for ASP ***/
.nixhier {
    display:none;
}

The form you see is the form from ASP (Advanced Spam Protection) and should prevent from Spam. The comment lines are only "Title" and "Comment".

commenting works well

You may deactivate the CAPTCHA. The CAPTCHA is not necessary since wb2.7 with activated ASP.
