I am using XP SP2, Firefox 3.04, WB 2.7, FCKeditor 2.87. If I browse for the media folder to insert image or video files onto my pages using FCK, I get this server error message.

The server didn't send back a proper XML response. Please contact your system administrator.

XML request error: OK (200)

Requested URL:
http://mysite/modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/php/connector.php?Command=GetFoldersAndFiles&Type=File&CurrentFolder=%2F&uuid=1228187627109

Response text:  <This field was blank>

I have no idea what's going on except that I have checked the server XML and it is active and enabled.  Their PHP is 5.2.6.  I have Java 6.10.

I have seen something similar to this in other posts, but they have not helped me much.

Can someone advise me.

Thanks,

Don

Since I posted this problem, I have temporarily arrived at a solution.  I uninstalled version 2.87, emptied my cache and cookies and installed version 2.77 obtained from the WB modules section.  This version works as advertised.  So there has to be some sort of a problem with the later version, who knows??  Not me, for sure.

I sent this note to the Systems help on my server.

"Some users reported problems since introduction of FCKEditor v2.50 (WB internal module version 2.80) on servers with open basedir restriction in place. If you have experienced problems with the latest FCKEditor releases, you may want consider the older version v2.77 as alternative."

They replied:

"Yes, we have open_basedir protection enabled. It's a security feature that prevents users from opening files outside of their home directory with php.  I'm not quite sure though why it conflicts with latest FCKEditor."

So this is the problem it seems, maybe a later version of FCKEditor will fix this.
