Maximum characters in post short in news module
«

Hi there,
I'm using the "normal" news module (in this case I can't use the news anywhere..) I would like to be able to set the maximum amount of characters users can put in, in the short description field. Is that possible and if so, where can I modify this?
Best regards,
Steven

Hi Steven,
you will need to modify the module or the database ... In the form where you enter the news, you could limit the input field length to achieve what you want, or you could limit the database filed, so it would not accept more than x characters.
If you go for it, choose the first version.
cheers
Klaus

Hi Klaus,
Thanks for your reply. Since I'm quite a newbie: What and where exactly can I change this? In the modify_post.php I've made an input type instead of the
show_wysiwyg_editor("short","short",htmlspecialchars($fetch_content['content_short']
(line 140). That works but I also want to be able to put in images and styles with the short text.
In short: Is it possible to still see and us the editor for the short post but only with a limited amount of characters (250)?
Thanks,
Steven
