I am currentrl hosting  WB on one of my PCs at home.
I use the DYNDNS service to point back to my router/system etc.

So when I connect to WB using the server-pc everything is ok (log shows user-id 127.0.0.1 connected)

however when I try to LOGIN to WB from any other PC via the DYNDNS service where the user gets my network IP address(provided by my ISP) 124.xxx.xxx.xxx then it fails to login and keeps asking to try again & again....

any thoughts?

You will need to tell us more about your setup ... and a bit about the WB config.

Is the router connected via static or dynamic IP (in the second case you will need a dynDNS for the router)? Does the router forward your HTTP requests to the server on the right ports?

In the WB config.php what do you use for the HTTP Strings in the URL (IP or hostname and which)?

Does the webserver / operating system allow connections from other machines?

my config.php is as follows:

There is a dynamic IP and I use a DNSupdater to sync the router and the DNS service.
all httprequests are passed correctly.


The domain is parked and points to a service provided by DynDNS;
mydoman------>> //gvaa.homeip.net  this also points to //gvaa.webhop.org:xxxx/wb (which does the webhoping and masks the path etc).

Local host windows config:  so it does not have to go outside the home network for requests straight from the server/host terminal

As soos as I removed Port fwd (in NAT router)  and used straight DMZ server the problem solved

So then it had to do with your port configuration. What actually happens when you "switch on" a DMZ is that all requests to ports not defined by a forwarding rule get passed on to the DMZ Server.
