site search engine for PDFs

I want to know if the WB search engine can read and index PDF files content linked from the site pages and stored in the download or media directories.

If this is not the case, did someone used an external search engine like Htdig on a WB site , having it index HTML pages content from within the database as well as from file formats such as PDF, DOC, etc.?

Hello,

the WB search only searches the content of the WB database and not the content of uploaded pdf or doc files.
