I had the same problem (release 2.7.0)

What I found was that when I create a second level page and the directory is created for the 1st level page name (in the Pages directory), it is created with a 777 permission. This results in the Server 500 error when I try to access the second level page. When I manually change the directory permission to 755 (or 775) everything works. This seemed to be an error in the creation of the directory that the permission was not being set correctly.

I checked further and found that I had not adjusted the Settings and this was set to create everything as 777. I changed that to make it 755 and everything is now fine.

I am now getting Server 500's in a different situation and these ones don't make any sense.

I used  * xxx (with a blank as the second character) as the menu name in a vertical menu so the second level would be more obvious as a subset of the first level. When I do this, I get a server 500 error when I try to access this page. I experimented and found that ]*xxx works as does _xxx and _ xxx (with the second character as a blank. -xxx does not work. Other combinations with a special character and a blank also seem to fail. Is there now a limitation on menu name format / content? I don't think that this was a problem to this extent in previous releases. Obviously, failing on a server 500 is not very elegant.

Hi, I have same problem 500 server Internal error

With fresh installation, only first page work.

No any other, all public, first level.

It's the first time I install.

Is there any solution?

I don't see any answer to that problem.

My English is little bad but I will try.
You need to check whether all files have the correct rights (File system permissions-folders, subfolders, files).
Also every file and folder have the owner (example- user:user or ivan:ivan), but all in the www directory.
You can also examine whether you have the correct connection with the file. Best ask the hosting provider to give you error log on your account and see the error. Or let me review the error to give you right decision if it is not doing.

best regards

I'm not sure, if  you mean CHMOD permissions, that in my case it is 755 in root folder.

I I need to change this in any folder, in that case which ones and what kind of permissions to set.

All my pages are public,(by the moment) so, no permissions at all

Or do you mean any other question, that I don't understand.

I Attach two images from backend  relative to permissions. I don't know if this will help ( sorry it is Spanish)

Sorry in advance by all the work, but I don't want to lose the action to develop websites with this wonderful CMS.

The issue here is NOT WebsiteBaker but the Server itself (Filesystem permissions or Serverconfiguration). If you don't understand what to look for please contact the administrator of your server.

cheers
