I've made a few minor updates to the backend. You can in the backend change the frame width and colour but not on hover.

If these features are in SimpleViewer Pro then you can use the pro files although i've never tested it. But the pro options (action script etc) would have to be done mannually or you could modify the backend.

That's nice! Thank you for your work!
Is the new version already available at AMASP?

I've already heard about a software that extracts the fla file from an existing swf file. Would this also be a way to get the layout changes done?

Yes i've uploaded, just follow the link on this threads first post.

I wouldn't know about that. If you do get pro and make some changes to the backend for action scripts post it here and ill see about integrating it into the main module

Hello,

Since IE 8.0 is out already several clients called us to say that the Simpleviewer didn't work well in their WB site.

After checking some websites indeed it does not work well. After clicking F5 the viewer looks good again.

the problems are: black screens, wide screens, no photos. (looks like that IE cannot recognize the width of the SV the first time)

Before I typed this topic I checked the original Simpleviewer website but there seems to be no problem there so my final thought is that it really had to be this mod.

You can check the problems here and here (may be it looks good the first time, but check again a few times, then you will see it)

I uploaded the last Flash version too.
Websites are on WB 2.7

Hi Dietmar,

Thnq for responding.

In this case I don't think that's the problem because in IE 7.0, Firefox 3.1 as in Safari 4.0 it works like a charm.
Besides that it succeeds with the Standard Compliance Mode and are there no CSS/JS errors.

I truely believe this is typical IE8 stuff. Are there more users who has the same problems?

PS: I use this SV mod but bought the PRO version to get rid of that SV copyright.

Hi Dietmar & Jochen,

Thnq for taking the time to check it out. Appreciate it  smiley

Good to read that you saw no problems. Unfortunately we still do. Not always but the error suddenly seems to appear when you browse the different pages with a SV mod in it. Check att.

This printscreen was taken from this site. On all sites we have the SV mod build in we encouter the same problems.

Again, I think it's basically a temporary file error from the 8.0 version.

After checking the links im unable to duplicate you error, i've also not been able to duplicate the error anywhere else. Im currently running you site through browsershots to see how it renders in a number of different browser on a number of different OS's.

Can you tell me, what OS's the problem appears on, how many computers you have tried, also what backend language is being used, as currently only the EN lang file is complete on the latest version, (previous version might be ok)

Hello,

Thnq for responding. The error came to me from our client who had the same issue and he got notified from another person. So in all there are 3 different computers who had the same issue.

It's not that the SV will show the error all the time. It shows up at any time. So it might be a good chance that it shows up after checking it for the 10th time. So when browsing through some pages of the same website and so now and then check the SV page all of a sudden the error can show up.

I will answer your question as soon I have all the data.

Hi,

pls check your source, i get a error by checking the code:

Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 42  it contained one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8

may be that is the problem

greetings
Dietmar

Hi,

The error that you referred on was a copyright notice from an external script. I removed it but that's not the problem.

I do have it on other domains like these one. Check att.

As you see the SV is half out of the pink box.

Hi,

step by step. for this url

http://www.jeroenkoeten.nl/pages/portfolio/bedrijf.php

there are 44 Errors, 8 warning(s) and many in javascript. Better to this source in an external file and to load as external file like the mdcr.js

greetings

Im unable to reproduce the error,

I have just uploaded version 0.95 for which i have added gallery width to the options which may help. The language files for DE and AT are incomplete so if you do finish them post them here and ill add them.

To upgrde use WB backend BUT you will also need to add a galleryWidth (TEXT NOT NULL) field and alter galleryHeight to TEXT NOT NULL to the your database manually (see install.php) OR Unistall the old and then install the new.

Again if anyone finds time to create an upgrade script post it here.

Hi Dietmar,

I really don't think this is the issue but when I have some time left I will do a fresh install of WB and only install the SV. Then check what's up.

I will let you know the results!

Thnq for taking the time to respond. Appreciate it.

Pls note, it isn't  a error from WB it is your Template. Inline Javascript is diffycult, and can produce errors.

If you send me your template with all css, images and java scripts, i will be going to help and cleaning the template.

Hi,

Great module and gallery.  I would like to purchase the Pro version for the following reasons, to style the:
-  thumb hover colour
-  thumb active colour
-  big image border colour
-  arrow styling

Can this all be done in the flash file and then just update viewer.swf file with the new styled pro version?  Not worried about these settings been available in the admin.

Thanks

Hey there!

Great module!  grin

I've been adding Simpleviewer manually all the time with a build-gallery script which worked fine for me.

What I'm recently missing:
- Notice for admin if the pictures folder is not writeable (777)
  This is a must-have have I think
- Mouse scrolling wheel support as original simpleviewer has this feature
- Editing & saving preferences on layout for all future galleries

Bugs:
- left arrow below preview gets cut

See for yourself...
- self build gallery wrapped in WB: http://www.danyalexander.de/pages/beispielfotos/hdr.php
- build with your module: http://www.danyalexander.de/pages/test-hdr.php

These are just small issues, maybe telling where I can change the preferences might help.

Hi,
all modules somehow store their default settings in their files, most likely in their install.php file. If you have located them, you can change them to your own default settings, and rezip the module. Then any new install willl have your preferences. That's what I do often for clients.

Nice looking module. This is v.95 of SimpleViewer. I see that SimpleViewer is now at v2.0.3. Is there a way to update this module to the latest version? or does the newest version need to be adapted/re-ported to Baker?
