Newbie problem. Attempting to run WB on localhost on Mac 10.5.5 to learn how to create & manage a web site. The WB install page shows php session support is not enabled (cookies are supported for sites I navigate to) but phpinfo() says it is.

I have Webmin installed, too, if it can be used to solve the conflict.
Thanks for any input.

As for the mac-site i would use MAMP for local development.
You can take a look here: http://www.mamp.info/de/index.php

Simple to install, run and manage on MacOsX ... afaik the buildin Apatche belongs to 1.13.x (but  could be also wrong)

Thanks for the feedback, Aldus.
I had a run at installing AMP using MacPorts, but ran into errors I couldn't deal with. Core issue seemed to be that the MacPorts installation is intended for Tiger not Leopard. I may go to the MAMP site you suggested if problems persist with what I have in place now.

I decided to ignore the conflict and proceeded with the WB install. Although I now have an uncooperative MySQL, the PHP session support is now reported as "engaged" - although I've done nothing to cause the change. Serendipity?
