Hello there!

Is there any possibility to implement an E-Card function to any one of the gallery Mods?

Thanks.

Hmmm. That's an interesting idea. I had thought about that a couple times.

Could start with a cart module, only instead of sending you to checkout, you could go to a form section. Be nice to have a "send on date X" too.  I think the MassMail module (or a modification) has some key code for that, plus you'd definitely need some email validation and caps on the number of cards, maybe a short term ban on the IP address after the max is reached. Otherwise, your site will be quickly put into the spamming business.

What I found is this small Script: http://www.sendcard.org/
I dont really know how to implement this. Maybe I will use it as standalone and adjust the template, so it looks like (or similar) to the rest of the page.

But... maybe someone who has more experience knows how to do it and has some time to take a look.

That would probably be the fastest and easiest.

You should be able to just install the script, then use a wrapper page-type to point to the directory where you installed the script.

Looks like the author gives a lot of customizing documentation, so it shouldn't be too hard to add a link back your WB page. Or else you could open it into a new window, nothing else to do then, the user will close the window themselves when done.

Hi there,

me personally hates this kind of e-cards at all. But it´s really personally. Once I was aked for e-cards and came along to a flashbased application. This one works in a style I like. The point of it is to have a kind of drawing-editor and write into the picture itself. Then when finished You can save it for further use. And best of all: It sends html-mails with the created pic.

It´s a standalone-script but can be easely desined. - At least You dont need to, because the best thing is to use it fullscreen. Just try it out. PM me with Your e-mail and I´ll send You an example, if You´re interested.

Hello Spark,
no I don't.

I would love to but I'm personally no coder at all.
But I think this really would be great.
And I still have a need for this because I'm making Postcards myself, I want to have some of them for free use on some websites.

I'm still sure that this is just a matter of some "good will" for a pro coder  wink

Hi Stefek, I agree, that would be great. If my client is desperate for them in the meantime I'll go down the 'sendcard in a wb code page' and see how I get on.

I'll post a link here by the time I come round to it.

Thanks again,

So what IS this mysterious Flash-based e-card system? Why don't you just post a link to it?

I am sorry, but I cannot post a link to this flash-ecards because it isn´t in the web anymore. Only a newer version which is very different.

The old package I lost with a HD-Crash. I only have it installed and working in a webserver. The newer You can find here

I took a look at  http://www.sendcard.org/ again.

It looks for me at this could be implemented in any of the existing Image Galleries.
I don't know really how to do this, but I have a lot interest in such a module.

I will try to get it to wor as a stand alone thing.

Maybe someone has some hints for me how to implement this via a CODE section.

Best Regards,
