Hello,

if you are interested in editing modules, templates, or language files (Add-ons), you may want to check out the new admin module Addon File Editor.

Hi Bernd

tested this module with 2.8 RC1 and it looses the row-numbers if editing.
I assume it depends on the delete of codepress?

Would be fine if you could have a look at it.

I use the x_fast_template and that has .tmpl files that are not editable using addon file editor, but Template edit "Togglelized"  does.

As written in the README file of the Addon File Editor (AFE), one can register additional file types (like *.tmpl) by adding the type to the array $text_extensions of the AFE configuration file config.inc.php.

Hi Doc,

thanks for information.
I added .tmpl to the array and it works fine.

Hello Erpe,
a little offtopic...
Is there more info available on how to use xFastTemplate?
I only find the "Module" and some info in the zip File, but can't figure out how to make a real use of it.

Every info would be helpful.

I am gonna start a new project soon, where I want to use WB and  a Shop Software together and I think it would be of some use in there.

@Stefek:
Beispiele gibts auf AMASP oder in den Modulen von Aldus (einfach mal auf AMASP nach xFastTemplate suchen).

@Stefek:
Maybe use the template engine shipped along with WB as starting point. The usage is explained in more details here.
If you want use x_fast_template, you may want to ask Aldus on that.

Thanks for the commitment, Doc.
I will have a look inside those files.

I asked Aldus long time ago.
I can imagine, that he didn't had the time to make a enduser documantaion on that.

Maybe he will once.
I'll ask him.

Hello Doc,
this is a great documentation.

Unfortunately the thread is closed (why ever) and I don't want to misuse this thread too much in order to talk about this Primer Thingy.

Too bad that you stopped its development at this interesting point. Its kind of medicine for "codalessitis"  wink

Stefek

Hello Doc, this is a great documentation.
Well thanks. However, the download numbers are quite low. About 21 downloads in English, another 18 in German within 4 month since posting. So I can not fully share your conviction  wink

However, if the documentation helps to create better module code it may still have a certain eligibility. Maybe Luisehane will take up the work and finish what I started wink

Hi Doc,
mostly I do like the step 2c.
I am trying to generate a HTT File for the Mini-Cart (Bakery Shop) right know.  smiley
It seems to work - and perhaps I will finally get there.

Luishanne is a good coder - no question.
But I can't think that someone could do it in the same manner as you do.
It's quite a question of experience (based on time invested, WB modules created etc.).

However, I would really like if this work would be continued.
The "outlook for.."

... MODULE PRIMER: "STEP 3"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
In STEP 3 of the "Module Primer" we learn how to interact with the database and the purpose of the optional module files: "install.php", "uninstall.php", "add.php", "delete.php". So stay tuned.

... is exactly what I need.

The learning curve is amazing. Even if I know just a little PHP, I learnd a lot about modules today.

I don't think that I will be able to design whole modules, but it is good to know more what's in the box. Sometimes I need to adjust some things, and some of my favorite modules ain't in good shape. So, there is a lot to do.

Anyway.

Thank you for the job done.
It was a good lesson.
