After doing some heavy modification to the original download gallery I thought I would move this version over to it's own development so this keep the confusion down..

Project WB Download Repository Reloaded will have the ability to request Live Support from within the Download Repository module.

Download Repository RC1.2.4 is a Enhanced Release Candidate
version of downlaod_gallery 1.9. And should not be mistaken
for download_gallery 1.9 module thats in the add-ons area that
is also a good working version
"But as an alternative".

If you use this module you must first uninstall any previous development
release of this module and you must also first uninstall download_gallery 1.90
before installing download_repository _RC_1.2.4

Yep!! I got it working.

Here are the new functions.

[AUTHOR] - The display name of the author of file.
[WBUSER] - Use this field to enter the users WebsiteBaker Screen name.
[CONTACT_EMAIL] - Enter a contact email address of author if one is available
[PLATFORM] - The display of what platform to use this file on.[VERSION] - The display of file version number.
[DEVELOPMENT_STATE] - Display the development faze.
[liCENSE] - The display of file license information.
[WBTHREAD] - Add a link back to WB forum
[WBLINK] - Link back to authors Web site.
[SEEALSO] - Additional information can be placed here.
[IMAGE] - Upload you image or images for this download file using WYSIWYG Editor that also give you the ability to upload from local desktop or pull image's from your Media folder on server.
[INSTRUCTIONS] - You can insert instructions pertaining to the download file using a WYSIWYG Editor.
[PREVIOUS_RELEASE] - You can display previos release of you download file here using a WYSIWYG Editor.

Hi John,

I downloaded rc 1.1 , tested it and found some mistakes:
please see my testsite: http://www.rvb.bplaced.net/pages/dwl.php

1. file could not be downloaded (tested it with various files)
2. there is no frontend.css to be edited from the backend (edited it now in screen.css) or in options (very uncomfortable)
3. fields "links" are not automatically  links in the frontend like WB-thread and so on
4. entries in field "thumbnail image" were not saved
5. Thumbnail for groups is not shown

Please understand this is just a release candidate and issues are going to show up.. I am working to resolve as fast as they come in..

About 1 please give me a brief discription on server your running. as I can't reduplicate.

About 2 no front.css was in previous version download_gallery 1.90 and didn't really plain for it, I don't really see the need for it as you can configure through settings on same page. I will keep this option open if more request come through.
 
About 3 links to the download file are automatically set and is probably part of issue 1 your having.

About 4 the image should save as this is set within the WYSIWYG Editor are you sure you have version RC 1.1 and not RC1.0 as both were different... Recheck please this is the Latest Version RC 1.1

About 5 Group file not complete yet hope to have this finished tonight..

If you find any more issues just let me know will be here most of the night.

Hi John,

about first issue I sent you an email.
about issue 2 I am not lucky with that for it is really uncomfortable, but it is your decision

I deinstalled my version, downloaded fresh (rc1.1) from your last post and installed, but no changes about the issues 3 and 4.

Ok after trying some things out One thing I notice is you have both

download_gallery 1.90
 and
download_repository _RC_1.1

you will need to uninstall one or the other for your problems 1 and 3 to disappear as I was able to duplicate this on my server when I had  download_repository _RC_1.1 installed everything works when I installed download_gallery 1.90 the issue with 3 showed up  and vise versa with both so I uninstalled each one at a time and problem went away for both..

you can only have one running not both sorry

, deleted pages Gallery and Repository, deinstalled Download Gallery (though it functioned as it should), deinstalled download_repository _RC_1.1, downloaded download_repository _RC_1.1, installed it, created a new page but:
no changes in case of #1 and #3.

Doe this modified module make better use of the groups feature? The normal download module just lists all downloads under each other, and the groups merely consisting of headers. I'd like to see links to groups, and only after selecting a group, you see the downloads there. Just like almost any other download module works actually. Is this changed in this "enhanced" version? This should also be the case for the admin in my opinion: select a group, and then see the files. Not just an endless list of all files. You cannot even select all files in a group now, or sort them by group. So is this version improved in that aspect, or not? I cannot try it, because I cannot deinstall my current version that's on a live client site.

A:We are currently working to enhance this feature request

This module has under gone a complete modification from front end to back end.
As the Download Repository module grows in features not all feature get packed
into it at once. We start off with basic code structure then fix bugs, and then
move to the next faze of implementing new features to the module. We have
had some struggles with this as some new features we need to use is not a
standard within the WebsiteBaker Code Structure so we had to come up with
a way to do this in a clean, secure, safe way using a hands off approach making
this a
"ready to use out of the box"
until such time the new code features we are using are implemented into the
WebsiteBaker Core structure as a standard for module development.


So to answer a couple questions......


We have brought a couple new features into the wb module structure, Some
that have already made it into the module and some that are being developed
in future releases. Two major feature add ins to this module which i think should
become standard are.....

This module now automatically detects if the version you are using is current or
out dated and an option to download the latest version at that point.

We have just implemented another new feature. which now links the modules
we create back to a live support center it will let you know when we are on or
off line to give you live support right there. making this process painless and
easier on the user.

We are just about ready to release this into a stable release version and though some features didn't make it into the next release they should make it by the following.

If there is a feature you would like to see please feel free to post it here and if you already have a solution to it post it as well.. who knows it could be added in.

It have been brought to my attention that download_repository RC2.0

Has some of the same vulnerabilities (like manipulation of file

extensions etc.) as the original download gallery module. So I have

Pulled it from WebsiteBaker Forum until the next version download_repository RC3.0

is completed and will resolve the issues at hand.

If you are currently using download_repository RC2.0 please be aware of this.

The live update server we host the updates for download_repository on
is down for maintenance and won't be back up until the vulnerabilities
with download_repository RC2.0 has been addressed and the release of
download_repository RC3.0 is ready for release..

Would like to give an update to how things are progressing on the wb download repository Stable
Release

I have finished fixing and applying security issues, cleaning some code and making
modifications to the file structure. If all goes well I should be ready to release this within
the next couple of days no more then a week. But this is a tentative date not set in stone yet.
