Hi All -
I've just gotten underway with WB and after looking at some templates and some of the sites in the showcase, I have a few questions:

1.  Does anyone use this CMS as a webhost to give as a tool to the end user for them to build their own website?

2.  I see with some templates there is additional text and information that I can't seem to edit through the admin panels.  IE:  http://addons.websitebaker.org/pages/lorem-ipsum.php?template=andreas03  I like the look and feel of that template, but I can't seem to find a way to edit the text with the header of "Spead and accessability" or the text in the right column.  Is the only way to actually edit the html or php code?

What I'm trying to do is give an alternative to having a user hire a web designer and allow them to build their own site... up to a certain point.  Ease of use is a define plus, but also I'm thinking that if the use is going to be required to edit the raw html/php then that's not going to be too good for me as their primary means of support...

Thanks!
Rivo

cheesy  I think I may have answered my own question to a point...  I seem to have discovered "page sections" and in looking at the doc, I have modified the info.php and added another $block definition as well as the corresponding php page_content(x) code in the index.php.

Is there anywhere else that I would have to define differnt section?  I would like to make sure I'm heading in the right direction.

Thanks!

OK...  Gathering more questions as I go...

Can I assign a section block to display on ALL pages?  I have a sidebar that I would like to remain static on all pages, but I would like to retain the ability to edit it thorough the admin panel instead of hard coding the content into the index.php file.

Thanks!

OK...  I'm scratching my head here.  I've read the previous post entry and found how to create the global blocks functionality.  It turns out to basically be a php include while being able to edit the content of the blocks as well.

The problem I'm having is not seeing the result of the content page.

What I've done is:
  • created the hidden menu item called block
  • created a WYSIWYG page (block01) and made it's parent the hidden menu item (block)
  • edited the WYSIWYG page (block01) and just put a simple text message in it
  • edited the index.php file for my current template and added the <?php include (WB_URL."/pages/blocks/block01.php"); ?>

When I execute the code I just get my normal template without the global block...

When I call the global block page directly, the code shows up.

Any ideas?

The normal page is http://www.atpeaceministries.com/wb and the global block page is at http://www.atpeaceministries.com/wb/pages/blocks/block01.php

Thanks!
