In WB 2.6x you could reinstall a module over the already installed one. So you could make changes in the files, rezip and reinstall, without having to remove it from the pages where it is used. In WB that doesn't seem to work anymore. I get the error that the module is already installed (which I know), but I cannot reinstall it unless I first remove it from all pages it is used on, and deinstall from the modules repository. This is very awkward! Is it a bug, or some kind of safety measure? I don't like this at all #$&!*!$@(*&^$!

Hello,

In WB 2.6x you could reinstall a module over the already installed one.
This was considered as bug - and fixed in 2.7.

If you have made changes to a module (e.g. version 2.56), it is not the same module anymore
so just change the version number in info.php, lets say to 2.56-argos.01

Thanks for the workaround, that works. I do think it's a silly thing. If you're modding a module for a particular client, you're constantly trying stuff and see if it works and how it looks. Sometimes making dozens of small changes. Especially for a non coder like me, I do a lot of trial and error. Now I have to rename the version every time i changed a bit. I don't understand why it was considered a bug in previous versions, it was just an easy upgrade function. Can that change be made undone?

That's a fairly decent alternative, thanks for letting me know. Still it's not half as nice as working in your favorite editor (width 100%, bells and whistles like code coloring and layout settings), and just ftp the files to the server. Well, I'll make due with this online editor.

Does anybody know if this "bugfix" can be made undone?
