Hi,

I am new to using the modules.  I have run into a problem and I am not sure how to proceed.

I installed this calendar:
Module Details
Name:     Calendar
Type:     Page
Author:     David ilicz Klementa, ilicz (at) inmail (dot) cz, Matthias Gallas, Rob Smith, Christian Sommer
Version:     1.0RC6
Designed For:     WebsiteBaker 2.6.x
Description:     Yet another event calendar... I hope you will like it...

I am unable to un-install it tells me:  Cannot Uninstall: the selected file is in use

And I am receiving this error on the main page for website baker..
Fatal error: page_content() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/homepages/22/d179124824/htdocs/harleysvilleseniorcenter/wb/modules/calendar/view.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /homepages/22/d179124824/htdocs/harleysvilleseniorcenter/wb/framework/frontend.functions.php on line 233

I am trying to uninstall it because I would like to use the event calendar V1.8 and have that installed and working.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for your time..

Hi, it seems like you still have a page or section in use with this module. You'll need to remove that one first. That is what the error "the selected file is in use" means.

cheers

Hi Klaus,

I installed the calendar, but I never referenced it with any pages.  Any other suggestions??  I wouldn't know what else would be referencing it...

Morning,

just install the new version - dont care about the elder one.
If this doesn´t work
so give this a try: connect  with ftp to your server, go to Your WB-directory/modules/ and delete here the directory event (or ev. event-calendar or just calendar). Now go to the admin-panel, settings/advanced options if You have v2.6.x or in WB2.7 go to admin-tools and reload Add-ons - modules. Now it´s deinstalled. Go on with installing the event-module.

Hello,

Just for clearing things up. That's wrong. Reloading modules only deletes the entrie in the addons table if no info.php from a modul is found. Reload addons does not delete the modulspecified tables and does not delete the entries in the pages/section tables where a modul is in use. So trying to deinstall this the above described way is a very bad idea.

Of course Matthias, Your are totally right.

But in this case - just installed - maybe not assigned to a page (but otherwise why else should be a file-in-use-error?) - and replacing it with annother version....
Even if not replacing: in fact You left 3 unused tables in Your database. - This tables You could remove with phpmyadmin - if You have access.
If you just forgot which page you assigned - You will find it because this page causes an error - go to backend and delete this page and renew it - just take it easy.

I know, the better tip would be:
Just give this a try: restore Your backup (which You should have done just before installing the unknown module)
