Hi,
For you who like ibrowser (simple image browser-uploader-resizer), here is a package for 2.7. I cleaned up some of the buttons (preview, save etc.) integrated ltr,rtl buttons for right to left languages. Only problem I have is limited FF support. maybe someone can fix it??
download:

Please input...

Check it out and talk to John maybe you can work out something together - so you don't work on someting that is already done. It already has image browser in it.

Yes I know, I realised it too late. But this one is with ibrowser which many people like so I thought will be handy. But thanks for info anyway.
Also, the image upload and insert functions are much less developped then in ibrowser. (e.g. images resized on the fly on upload) I therefor still think this Module is better. Few nice extras he has is the youtube and wb links. will see if can also do in this one.

I have now upgraded the package tiny_mce3. It includes John's wblink and youtubes. I fixed the uninstall and some links and it seems to work perfectly on 2.7. If you after a simple editor with RTL and image loader look no further!!!
comments welcome.

Hello iti,
have you secured the upload files from beeing accessed directly without authentification via the WB backend, as implemented in Johns module? Are the rights controlled by the editor or by WB?
From my point of view, there is no reason for having two TinyMCE modules for WB. Can you contact John in order to create one common version?

Hi Christian
Yes this I must still do (security) I would greatly appreciate your help here. can I not use the normal wb admin credentials?. give a hint please...
I am in contact with John who sent me an angry note, mentioning copyright etc. I offered to cooperate. All the componnets on my package were found by me from different sources, and are open source. the youtube and wblink modules are the only things I copeid from John (I saw his package after I did mine) I made sure his logos are there (I offered to delete those if he so wishes). I think there is nothing wrong with giving the wb users more choice. ibrowser is a great little image browser. also, I redesigned the tiny_mce - I used the version from their website - to be more suitable to wb.
John requested I withdraw my solution form the forum. Please note my solution is not even in beta. I put it only for people to check it out.
hope to solve it all peacefully

Hi John
my version is an alternative version. as I have written, I used only two elements from yours. There is nothing wrong with giving the wb users choice!!! and ibrowser is superior to ajaxmanager. So I will not remove my version, but if you wish I will delete the 2 modules I got from you. Unless you give me written permission to use them in my solution.
thanks
Iti

Hi,
I like FCKEditor. But if TinyMCE gets better and better, I would like to changing the editor. But if possible 1 good version and no 2 different versions. Personally, I find 2 versions confusing. Sorry...
When both versions are ready, iti and johnp can merge them to 1 version.
But this is all my personal opinion! Don't shoot me!

John, Iti,
I would highly appreciate if you could sort out your issues via PM without involving a third party
What I have seen so far, is that the module from iti has some serious security issues (e.g file upload without access to the WB backend ..). So the module is not yet ready for beeing used on a procuctive system in the WWW. This security issue was the reason why we have removed TinyMCE and other editors like Xinha etc. from our addons repository. Details can be found in the
security announcements
.
Apart from that, the most obvious difference is the usage of the
image browser plugin iBrowser
(which development was stopped already 3 years ago) versus the Ajax browser plugin in Johns version (guess it is from
PHPLetter.com
.
Maintaining a WYSIWYG module for WB can be a time consuming tasks, especially if the developers are very active as it is the case for TinyMCE and FCKEditor. Modules which allow actions like file uploads or any interactive action via the frontend have to be treated more seriously as it may be easy to comprise a entire web server.
Personally I do appreciate any contributions to websitebaker. Just a proposal. I would like to see Johns TinyMCE module as baseline and an optional package which implements the iBrowser plugin from iti. That way forum users could decide, which imnage browser they want to use and only one TinyMCE module needs to be maintained.
Hope you both can sort out the problems.
Regards Christian

Yes that's seems to be a good solution. However, I noticed there are some issues in John's package which I would like to have some input on. I really have no intention to fight over 'my' version. I did it because I saw there were failings with the current editors (especially regarding RTL languages) - not john's which I was not aware of, and found the image upload function not satisfactory and because I wanted to help. I did not kow there are issues of copyright here, and i think in such fantastic project there should not be. or am I wrong?
I did not test fully John's version, but here are some inputs:
1. it seems html mode changes the links (add ../) and maybe other things.
2. I would prefer to have more button configuration in the include.php, so everyone can structure his tools personally (I moved most to the include)
3. I restricted the ruler to 2 lines 3 seems to be too much.
4. personally, I find the default skin more clear.
These are all small things. If john is ready to integrate these and ibrowser, I think we can have these 2 packages for the wb community to choose from. What is wrong with more choice?
So I pass the ball to John. I do not care about credits or copyright, he can take them all on his name if he wishes. I do it to help others, as others who put so much work in this system have helped me.
and again as you see in this thread, I did not see John contribution when I put mine on line. And of course the security issue is not yet done on mine, and so Johns version is superior in this respect.
cheers and keep it cool
Iti

Hello,

yes fully agree
I am not aware of how TinyMCE can be triggered with respect to default skins and settings. Think if possible, we should do something like done for the FCKEditor. FCK allows to have user files for the JS settings. This way, custom settings e.g. for the ENTER key behaviour etc. will not get overwritten when upgrading to a newer version and one does not need to touch the default configuration files.

NEWS:
tiny_mce3 plus ibrowser is ready to use. I have implemented the standard WB security and I guess all runs well. The upload file page is protected. I am sure if you test it you will like it. Tiny is more configurable then fckeditor, and the image upload is absolutely great. Check it out and let me know what you think.
please download final copy from
http://www.rageit.ch/downloads/tiny_mce3.zip
uninstall previous copy and install this one. read the readme!!!
cheers

Hi to all ibrowser fans,
I have now checked security (XSS), optimised for firefox3 and IE 7 and fixed other small bugs. This module works perfectly now. You are welcome to test it.
http://www.rageit.ch/downloads/tiny_mce3.zip
and give input.
Please note, this is not an official WB module!! But it is great!!!!

In the current version, downloadable from the same link, user folders is integrated in ibrowser. This module is now fully functional and secure - as far as I can see. but more tests are required by the experts wb developers.
