Hello...

I've modified the Massmail module into a Groupmail module so it can send mail to a predefined group.
I also included FCK-editorn to create endmessage and messagetext in mail.
It send mail in HTML and clear text.
Lang files included are ENG and SWE.

Hope someone find it usefull!

Please test and come with feedback, the code may need some cleanup.

Regards

Hi,

Is it possible to send mail from the frontend or should we use it from the admin area?

Cheers,

It's based on massmail and only ollow sending from backend.

Maybe in the future I will make it possible to send from frontend if someone want's it or make the changes and send it to me so I can implement it in the module.

I would love to send emails from the front end.  I think many users would love this opportunity.
For my website I have created an "Admin Tools" portion to the website that allow users to edit calendar, send group mail, reports, and other functions.  Depending on the admin I can limit what they can and cannot do from the front end.

For me.. The only reason to go into the back end would be to edit pages or add new functions.
I believe there is a droplet or module that would let my web admin change also if needed.

There is a work-around to send emails from the front end.

Create a page for your mass email. (This will allow you to send to send email from back end)
Create a 2nd page  with a banner.. Use the link for your back end page inside this page.

My only issue with this module is that you cannot change your group email list. Once it is established you cannot adjust.  I have 4 different email groups and had to create a page for each.. in this case.. 8 pages (4 back end and 4 front end pages)

Also.. having problem getting this module to work.
I get "Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_encode_mimeheade r() in \\NAWINFS03\home\users\web\b1283\rh.jla\baker\modules\groupmail\save.php on line 129"

If it is based upon mass mail I presume it is also sending out all mail as bcc..

I think a mailingplugin should send out mails one by one, if possible with the possibility to send em out personalised

I personally love the way pommo does all the things you expect from a mailing application
( I think the development has stopped some time ago)

Other than that, nice to see someone trying to take the mailingthing a step further...
