I've just installed WB, and everything works fine in IE, but in Firefox, FCKEditor isn't loading properly.

The error I get is that Firefox asks me whether wants to save or open a file called fckeditor.html. It doesn't matter which I choose at that point. If "open" it opens in a new window (blank). If "save", it saves the file to disk, but doesn't actually work.

I'm ready to tear my hair out.

Has anyone experienced this before, or have any clue?

The only setting of note that I've changed is the pages directory -> blank.

Melissa.

Just tried this on another machine, and exactly the same problem, so not isolated.

I tried clearing the cache.

No problems with my 2.6.7 site or 2.6.4 site.

Just tried, as a last ditch solution, changing the pages directory back to "/pages", and guess what - it works now in Firefox as well as IE.

But this solution is not what I wanted. I wanted the files to go in the root directory. I think that having to have "/pages" is ugly. sad

Has anyone got this working with a blank PAGES setting in Firefox?

Yes, works fine for me without any modifications both locally (XAMPP) and in the WWW.

Melissa.

have the same problem. only on one homepage, not at all on all other ones (about 10). ie works. clearing the cache did not solve this and cmod permissions are o.k. renaming pages directory did not have any effect.

so i read in firefox forum and tried updating java - and now the editor shows the text field with the text in html format but not the icons at all. grrr.

regards, pfreud01

edit: now ie does the same: no icons at all and only textfield with html left...  angry
